you asked about your engine bill… 16 hours and a couple cheap parts… ๐ Let rip! ๐
Thanks!!!! ย No surprise but now that Iโm picking up a running single port from Andy Iโm all over the place on where to put this motor!!!!! ๐ Today I think I should put it in the 356 or Thing!!!! ๐ ๐ ๐
ย Tried to drive to work this morning after a couple inches of snow, Slid all over the place in Single Cab!!!!!! ๐ drove back home and ripped into the broken Baja!! Rebuilt carb and it seems to run well, replaced ย the masking tape mock up on the rack with tack welds:) gonna cut open the tunnel and weld up the broken clutch tube. Need a functional all season driver!!! ๐ ๐ ๐
I heard 356’s are fun all season drivers!! ๐ ๐ย Baja is the ticket for snow though!
Rolling it round Town!!:)Runs clunky, not nimble like I want.Need Bigger rear tires, replace coil over shocks, figure out whether ย i need new torsion arms or just another adjust? Cut tunnel and weld clutch ย tube!!!! Kinda wanna be a dick and run aย Stinger!!! ๐ ๐ ๐
weldin up the rack!!!! ย ๐
VRRROOOOM!!!
Do work Rusty!
What do you mean clunky? Motor? Chassis? steering?
Re- index the torsions to jack up the ass end? I have the tool if you need it.
I thought you and JJ had this rig dialed?
Baja bugs have a hard life. They get thrashed and minimally maintained.
Case in point: You are more concerned with the roof rack, than the things that make it drive nice. ๐
Hahaha, the roof rack ! Im the same. First thing I did when the DD arrived home was put the rack on it. My friends were busting my balls…
I think it badass Rusty
Iโm gonna keep at it it til itโs nice!!! We cranked up the rear at KCW but it still sags, gotta go up more!! Also need bigger rear tires, torsion adjust, Clutch tube fix, some electric, tinkering……
You need this rack Rusty! More solid for your motorized bicycles. I donโt know how he wouldโve got his motorcycle up there… steep ramp I guess
Yeah!!! That could be the Gen2 version!!! ย Rack is a little rear heavy but itโs bolted to the body now ๐ Better suspension and faster throttle/clutch response is needed. Iโve got soft brakes…….. kinda seems like Iโm gonna build and rebuild this rig a few times til itโs a nice Baja ๐ ๐ ๐ Makes me re-think โoverpricedโ $6000 Bajas that ย have everything sorted!!!!! ๐ Iโll get there!!!!!! ๐
You probably need to buy brand new rear torsion bars. Yours seemed a little soft. It will take a mile of pre-load to get the suspension height where you want it.
Like these??? Got em in a tranny deal a couple years back, will they work? Big ass torsion bars, crazy preload, bigger rear tires, Bilstein gas shocks= nice rear end?????????
Yeah! Thatโs math I can understand!!! ๐ ๐ ๐
Those are huge torsion bars. Probably won’t need much if any pre-load.
They were a โDude, do you want these too?โ Sort of thing! ๐
Rack looks great Rusty ๐๐ผ
Thanks!!! ย Got a Baja Mark compliment!!!!!!!! ๐ ๐ ๐ Cut my tunnel, bracket was broken just like they always are!!!! pullin out the welder!!! ๐
Off the list!!! Not gonna post a pic of the slug weld I put on that bracket but seems like the clutch response is better!!! ๐ ๐ ๐ ย Tires!! The Baja has a set of nice Blizzax tires all the same size, part of the stance problem 215 70 R15, wanna keep that size for the fronts and get some 235 75 R15โs for the rears????? Any input????
Also need rear shock advice!!! No more coil overs!!!! ๐Where are ya Mark??!?!? Quit buying early Rabbits and help a Brother out!!! ๐
