What an amazing weekend trip we had!!!! Spent most of our time out of cell service🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Saturday-Sunday am- Headed to Marble, CO for AMAZING BBQ😍😍😍, then started toward crystal mill and camped by the river! Crazy rough road!!!! Next morning we got up early and went straight to the mill, and toured the cute town of Crystal, CO!
Bringing the pics back up…. Looks like an awesome trip! I have been dying to get back up to Crystal Mill. Ghost town trip…. soon.

Are road trip pics worthy of this thread if you end up at KCW?

More pics from our trip this last weekend – WOW was it beautiful!! The mill didn’t look real when it first came into view – like out of a Disney movie or something! Amazing!
Up the road from the Mill in the town of Crystal
Driving back down to Marble…
Marble, CO was beautiful! No cell service was pretty cool too 😎
Ended our Weekend with a desert off-road drive to the potholes! This rock cabin on the way in was built in 1911 if I remember right…
Here is that quick video I took that JJ was talking about… Sounds and looks like Paradise in there! Gotta go back when its super hot to swim!!! Its only about 20-30 miles from KCW 😁John JonesModeratorJune 3, 2021 at 6:42 pmPost count: 7863

Sure was fun to convoy with you guys! My drive home was an improperly balanced trailer tank slapper but a success.BBWBParticipantJune 7, 2021 at 1:55 pmPost count: 1050

Sounds like NO fun! Glad you made it safe and sound. We were playing in head winds that would near blow us backwards.

Made it to Ely. Barely. Was having overheating issues. At speed it runs fine, but low speed it runs rough. I think maybe the head gaskets are leaking coolant into the combustion chamber, because I can’t find an external leak. Good thing I have the idiot light setting set at a nice low point, and carry plenty of coolant.

If you ask me… I still don’t think we have a full proof nothings going to break, like driving a new chevy duramax drivetrain,, 8-( I guess that’s why the hippies gave up on the old busses eventually… 😎 You have water running through your chassis,. and your still having heat issue’s.. and we haven’t even addressed our trans problems… 😎
But regardless… I am glad there are still many of us willing to tow the line and stay real and keep it real and drive our shit… 😎 😎 No matter the sacrifice.. 😎BBWBParticipantJune 14, 2021 at 8:22 amPost count: 1050
Yea. I don’t know what to say. I’ve been very lucky with my vehicle reliability though our the years. I love my bus, and hope with my leg strength declining, I can keep driving a few more years. Hoping to pass along to a grandson or daughter. Not much interest there though. But I think I’ll test the market at the 2022 BBB. Right now I’ve got to dig in again and find out what’s going on. I’ll put my next comments/findings in my bus thread

Those canyons in Ely look similar to ours here….. That is why you were saying MTB has gotten popular there.BBWBParticipantJune 14, 2021 at 2:04 pmPost count: 1050
That’s Ghost Rock Canyon along I-70 Franz. This is From my friends back yard. Several trails come down it. It’s called Squaw Peak. I was never able to ascend it from the front on my trials bikes, but them my bikers come down for sure.
