These red 63/64 cars seem to keep finding me. Jesse hooked me up with this one from Glenwood last year.
When I bought my home 15 years ago, I could not get financed for the full amount. I had to take out an interest only loan for $15K…I’ve managed to pay half of it, but the balance is due next month. I need to make some money quick!
I am going to sell one of my driver 64 cars,(Hit me up if you’re interested email@example.com I’ll post pictures of them later) and replace it with this turd.
The plan is to go for an outlaw-look..not lowered, but with aggressive fat tires…class 11/ralley style, and plenty of patina. Eventually my 12 year old son will drive this car… I want to make sure its badass trail-rated, I hope to get him into spirited driving and having fun with us. I think the future of petrol-powered cars is going to be offroad & racing.
Its not perfect, but very promising & just the way I like them.DarioParticipantAugust 4, 2019 at 5:49 pmPost count: 372
This one has some cool patina to work with!!!FranzKeymasterAugust 4, 2019 at 6:50 pmPost count: 2714
Take your pick $6k for either car.
64 sunroof, og ruby red, 1200cc engine, good running/driving/shifting/stopping. Minor rust/dings. Needs interior love. Custom roof rack fits 3 mountain bikes(or other fat tire bikes).
Early 64 built in 63 Bahama blue. Numbers matching transaxle and 1200cc original Salt Lake City car. I am the second owner outside of the original family. It has some minor rust, and original interior. 4” narrowed beam, dropped spindles, disc brakes front, and vented 4.5” & 5.5” empi fuchs with 125 front tires and 205/70 rear. Ride is terrible, wears out tires, looks cool. Perfect mechanically.John JonesKeymasterAugust 4, 2019 at 7:24 pmPost count: 5379

The low rider is a cool ass car. Hopefully someone scoops something up to help the $$ situation.

Brake job over the weekend. I blasted/painted backing plates and drums while I had them apart.
I was ready to bleed the brakes, and found the pedal was seized due to a squirrel nest in the tunnel…looks like I have more cleaning go do.John JonesKeymasterAugust 12, 2019 at 8:30 amPost count: 5379
Franz got a lot done this weekend!!!! 😎 Getting himself ahead.. One red beetle at a time!!!!! 😎 It’s honestly a gift that we can build our own cars…. 😎 😎FranzKeymasterAugust 12, 2019 at 8:53 amPost count: 2714
Yeah, not having a car payment is a huge benefit if being a car builder.
I’m sooo looking forward to cleaning the piss soaked nest out of the tunnel.Critter1ParticipantAugust 12, 2019 at 9:07 amPost count: 204

I had that same issue with my heater tube on the bus. Always smelt like pine needles and mouse piss whenever there was heat going through it.:) Finally cut it out when I did the Subi swap.
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.
