exact same senerio here… 😎 I quickly went to the FM model… The cs2p….. 😎 😎
I try not to think too much about RC…. I miss the racing.. the competitive hobby… 1/10 offroad, oval, loved it.. kept me out of trouble and away from drugs and alcohol for years!!!!! 😎 especially my early years… 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
I had no less than 2 dreams about rc racing while I was at powell…. I do miss it… every now and again on Sundays… The sound of sports playing in the back ground on tv reminds me of many Sundays cleaning shit up after a long saturday of racing!!!! !!!! 😎 Sometimes PISSED OFF!!! Sometimes…. smiling…. 😎 If you were competitive you know what i mean…. 😎 😎

Maiden flights on this Sunday. It is my first purpose built electric powered R/C. The plane is an old Goldberg Cub kit. I followed the plans for building the Clipped wing version. I has a Scorpion S-4020 motor. I think that is equal to a .60 glow engine. I use a 5S battery. at full throttle it will go vertical almost out of site. Lots of fun!

Looks like a sweet plane Ben! We haven’t had great weather for flying here but its getting better and we have down time to build and fly now…random pic just because. One of the planes we operate at work… 60% Hemple Cub with a jetcat SPT-15 turbo prop. Hasn’t seen flight time in a while but its still cool 😎
for size reference LOL
That will be sweet on the turbine. I see the Hempel Cub all the time, as he lives here in Tucson. Even got to take the sticks on one of his clipped wings once. Very smooth plane.

3W 275cc twin. A tad bigger than a Weed Eater engine. 🙂

Wow, that’s one of the coolest “model plains” I have ever seen and that pilot has balls of steel! Bad ass for sure Ben.
yeah Hemple is a good dude, we communicated directly with him when we ordered ours. He’s a hell of a pilot. Our 60% has a turbo prop engine on it. It wasn’t built for the type of flying Hemple was doing…it was initially built as a tow plane for a glider project we were doing. The turbo prop has tons of torque but is a thirsty beast….it drinks a pound a min and gallon JET-A weighs about 7 pounds.
My latest project while isolated at home. Mono Coupe 90A. Going to be electric powered like my little Cub. Got the first layer of primer on it.
