Thinking about it… We have a good flying RC scene here. I have never been to the “airport” But it’s right next to the drag strip. I see people over there when I am out there..
That plane looks and sounds perfect. I bet I can find a stick radio… 😎 Although I would rather have something newer.. 😎 I also want to try and buy it local.. Hobby shops have it tough now with the internet. Plus, they will probably have parts for stuff they sell and stock… Ben.. You’ve shopped there… I bet your gonna say order it….. 😎

You have a nice hobby shop in JG. Support it. He probably has that plane in stock, or can get in 3 days. You of all people should know how hard it is to keep a small business running profitably. I’ve been in there and bought stuff from that guy. He’s fair and honest IMO. You also have a nice flying field, I’ve been up there as well, checking it out. I met some nice guys, very willing to help, can even give you an intro flight with one of their instructors.

That beast looks pretty bad ass Ben!!
I bet you would dig flying John. So much concentration and such a rush. I probably had more fun with cars, especially when I had a proper track in my back yard but for me it was for sure more reckless whiskey throttle checkers or wreckers fun compared to the more sober exacting precision needed for flying. I crashed (totaled) at least a dozen plains in 3 or 4 years before I hung up my transmitter. I wasn’t mature enough yet and the balsa wrecks were epic sad but I still dream about getting back into it. I think I am waiting for a racing related injury to give me a forced break from racing to make it happen. Hopefully not a very bad injury though 🙂 Just something that makes time. Good ol time.MikeKParticipantMarch 17, 2023 at 2:56 pmPost count: 424
I have had a few of these. It’s pretty much a plug and play deal. Pair it with the radio and you’re flying. Small and easy to transport, flies really well, cheap batteries and it will thermal on mouse farts. Small enough to fly just about anywhere and easily hand-catchable. I’ve had 20+ minute flights on one battery.
I learned on built-up planes, but between work, house projects and personal projects, I hardly have time to fly let alone build. I carry one of these little guys in my car during the summer and if there’s a park and I have some time, I’m flying.RustabusParticipantMarch 18, 2023 at 10:53 amPost count: 3205
I was checking out those RTF glider kits a bunch after I saw John’s Son Zack flying around a foam plane in Telluride years ago!!!Audrey JonesModeratorMarch 18, 2023 at 3:52 pmPost count: 1551

Boy I had fun yesterday😎😎😎😎. RC almost all day long!!!
so, John Redding is bringing me down a plane to try!!! Woohoo!! And I dug out Zack’s old stuff and found this transmitter and this heli!!! I’m gonna repair this baby fly it too!!!😎😎😎
also had a Blast hovering this little heli in the Dirty shop, went through all 6 batteries!! Fucking fun!! I don’t think about anything else when I am playing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
the 1/5 scale buggy!! Ohhh boy! Where do I start? Friday the receiver went out on the cheap china radio.. so I had to dig out my old Airtronics👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Now this Rig truly had the best of everything now!!! I blew out the body twice yesterday and sailed a jump high and landed on one rim.. busted that both out!!! Also bent a shock shaft.. but no A arms!! No knuckle’s!! 😎😎😎😎🤔
Luckily JJ’s garage had some extras of almost everything now.. prepared👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Sounds like a fun few days JJ. We got blown out today with 15mph winds. So I went home and worked on one of the current projects. I’m like JJ and VWs for projects. Too many!! LOL!

Oh man that plane looks like fun! I bet I could make some people run for cover with it, maybe dive bomb under some easy-up tents Kirby Chambliss style at least a few times before I had to break out the CA glue 😉JdawgParticipantMarch 20, 2023 at 12:57 pmPost count: 469
The Eflite Carbon cub is a cool plane but not one I’d recommend for a newbie, there are better choices to get ya in the air with success that will be a great stepping stone to the bigger cub. A tricycle gear plane would be way more user friendly. Tail draggers take more skill to take off and land. That little Pulse is a great flying plane…I have its big brother and fly the shit out of it but will still be more challenging than a tricycle gear. If you get on Horizon Hobby website and look up the Apprentice, I think that would fit the bill a bit better. That DX6i you have can be used with the Eflite BNF aircraft as well, thats a great little starter radio. you LHS should be able to order anything you want off of the Horizon Hobby website.
on a side note, we worked the RCX expo in Pomona this weekend…we brought some work planes for display…also attached a pic of the big pulse.JdawgParticipantMarch 20, 2023 at 1:04 pmPost count: 469

ok. I will listen and get that apprentice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I think I will go buy it from my LHS.. just to support..👍🏻👍🏻 And I’m gonna need some parts for the heli anyway
