If it’s got to be yellow then ^^^^THIS^^^^ is the way to go. Postal Yellow is a VW color and would have been an option for this year truck, I believe.
I heard we have gone full circle… and are back on yellow and xxx two tone..
Just my $.02, but if you are going two tone yellow and xxx how about PTT Swiss theme?
Black wheels, black bumpers etc…
Nooooooooooo ????????? but it’s his truck.

That would look awesome… and my thoughts exactly
Post office single cab.. 😉 masking is about to happen.
Whoa! Whoa! There!!!!!! Thought Grey was the last choice!!!!! 😕 😕 😀
WIld Bill wanted white over yellow. It’s always been about finishing what he started years ago. I’m gonna get on over to the PPG store and pick out a couple chips I can live with.
Well… today was longer than I hoped.. But goal accomplished….. 😉 Shell is in 2K primer, all welding is 100% done and I am ready to 320 it and paint it…. I had been putting off that seal channel above the engine bay…. I removed it long long long time ago, it was very rusty…. and meant to ask Gerson for one.. but…. oh well… I just made it.. anyhow. that was part of my hold up…
I blocked it down a bunch… I like to see some metal and mud here and there… and as you can see it did poo through..
piece I had to make and weld in…
I like blocking cars with the doors on…. You get everything on the same “Plane” and it looks just that much better. Honestly.. if you panel work it.. you tend to make each part pregnant.. You just gotta keep it in mind if you do it that way.
and now…. as she sits… with a gallon of 2K surfacer primer… ready to “Scuff and spray” on the outside… But before I do that…. I need to spend a few hours on the bottom, a few hours in the cab and engine bay and paint those area’s first…. Prepping and painting the bottom sucks.. sucks… sucks…. 🙄 🙄
and thats a wrap folks…. 😉 😉 😉 paint store is closed till Monday…. I can still work on the engine lid and T/C lid though.. they haven’t been touched. 🙄 🙄 🙄 But one is green.. 😀 😀
Almost forgot… Peet had your wheels dismounted so we can blast and paint the rims… Bumpers too!!!! When I get it painted,,,, assembly is going to fly!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Truck is looking proud… and excited about some paint..
Truck looks amazing!! Wild Bill found his old paint codes. I emailed them. Y’all have a golden day!
Got em… yellow and white truck coming up.. 😉
Why not black and yellow checkered paint?? 😉 😉 haha Gonna be a cool SC!
John is getting so close on paint.
We have been thinking about assembly. Everything mechanical has been addressed, except for the engine. It ran when we drove into the shop. The plan is to take everything off, down to a long block. Torque the heads, have a good look, then build it back up with new seals and misc parts to make it reliable. Things like the fuel pump and generator look deteriorated. Some nice new paint and a correct bus exhaust/air cleaner to finish it off.
This scab is going to be sweet. ?
All I know is that it’s a ’65 single port with 12V electrics… per Wild Bill. Correct appendages and reliability… excellent! Thank you Franz.
This scab is going to be sweet.
Looks more “Sweet William” than “Wild Bill”, but I like it. He’ll be stoked with the white over yellow. Thanks 68tintop.
