John kicked ass on my bus! Welded up the drivers floor and battery tray in one day. Looks great! We pulled the motor, cleaned it and put it back in with new fuel pump, new muffler, new gas line and some other stuff. Had Pat tune it up, torque heads and fix my gas sending unit. Now I have a gas gauge.
John also hooked me up with a cab divider. Its warm in the cockpit now ! Im surprised I dont see many cab dividers here in Colorado.
Thanks KCW for the good times and work.
I think Ill order a stove top cabinet from Gretchen this winter too ! Lookin good !JWDIIParticipantOctober 27, 2017 at 7:57 amPost count: 402

I love the willingness to help and make shit right…I’ve said it a thousand times but there’s no place like KCW for aircooled VW’s.John JonesKeymasterOctober 27, 2017 at 10:50 amPost count: 7121

The cab divider.. lets hear your thoughts on it… I hooked Bubba up with the OG cab divider that came in my pamper.. 😉JdawgParticipantOctober 28, 2017 at 3:09 pmPost count: 454
Looks like a clean ass ride…would look good laid out on some detailed alloys ?FranzKeymasterOctober 30, 2017 at 8:59 amPost count: 3807
Pats 16 valve major tune-up. Head gasket, and timing belt + full detail. In a low mileage original owner scirocco. I think an original battery would look better in there, but whatever.FranzKeymasterOctober 30, 2017 at 9:04 amPost count: 3807
Almost finished with the fuel injection to carb conversion on the 78 convertible. It takes a minute to do everything.
Beatrice is in for a transaxle rebuild. Popping out of 4th gear.FranzKeymasterOctober 31, 2017 at 8:00 amPost count: 3807
I pulled the engine. Ran a compression test. Once it was deemed in good condition. I stacked it with a new alt stand, end casting, intake manifold, fan shroud, 30/31 carb, and a oil bath air cleaner. The car got a tar board kit, trans axle mounts, and a low pressure fuel pump.
Its ready to drive. Hopefully everything else is good. “Other” problems at the end of a big job like this are frustrating.
Looks like a new engine.
Some of the junk that came off.BBWBParticipantOctober 31, 2017 at 9:00 amPost count: 877
Put that fuel injection stuff on ebay or Samba. It’s like gold in some circles.
