Well I’ll admitt, this was my first stroker motor to fit cylinder tins to and man it’s a lot of work and fit up to get this all to fit nicely. Hoping to see some paint on all these tins in the next day or so. IMG_20200810_173808IMG_20200810_173749IMG_20200810_173814

Audrey’s bay came in for some small things. Did an oil change, and fixed an ignition key tumbler that kept popping out, lubed up the sliding door, and I decited I’d fix her moving battery issue. Her battery box has seen better days so the previous owner made a plate to hold up the battery, and well that rusted as well, so I just simply made copy of the plate with a battery hold down welded to it and the whole thing just drops in. It will keep things safe till we get a new battery box installed. I also fixed her battery cables that had taken on a bit of a science project. But she’s good to roll now.

Then after that I worked on a 71 baywindow that’s been family owned since new, and check this out… It has a 912 motor in it. Super cool baywindow. I’ll be installing some new rear shocks in the morning, and he had a rear suspension noise, and come to find out, a rock had gotten stuck between the torsion housing and the torsion spring plate. So that was an easy fix (I love thoes).

Got this 69 beetles tail lights working again, fixed the horn, did the usual tune up, oil change, and this ripper is back to daily duties. This late model is packing a 2276 in it. IMG_20200819_130118IMG_20200819_130056

Got this 78 vert super in for a bit of work. New top, seat covers, door panels, full stereo install, and for mechanical stuff it needs to be daily driver worthy. So I got some work to do.

Did this come out of Montrose?   A guy stopped by the other day and asked about a VW shop around here because he had just bought his wife a blue super beetle convertible….Seemed like a cool guy

Yeah, the fuel injected 78 is from Montrose. They had their Toyota mechanic working on it, but he would never get it in the shop.

How is the red convertible with the 2276cc coming along?

HAHA yeah that’s him.  the second he said the shop he had it at I started laughing and told him to get it to you guys as fast as he could before his mechanic fucked it all up.  looks to be in fairly good shape.

I still like this thread the best.

Well the super clean Porsche 912 powered baywindow returned unfortunately. He never made it back home before his generator bearings took a crap. The owner located what was thought to be the correct replacement generator off pelican parts and turned out to be a large diameter 12v generator. The bus has a small diameter 12v generator. So I pulled it and decited since we where in kinda a pinch, I’d just rebuild it and throw in some new bearings. Took most the day to get this done as things where good and rusted together.  I got it back together last night, I just gotta get a new generator pulley.
