Cleaned up spindles over the weekend. Found one worn bushing in drivers side upper that needed replaced.

Franz cleaned up the kingpin just a tad as well.

Pressed spindles back together this morning. 

As usual lower shock bushing were stuck and required a bit of love to get them off.  

Ready for a fresh coat of shiny black. 

We will build it if it comes.

I ordered parts this morning. They will be here on Thursday. New bearings, shoes, shocks, damper, tie rods, and drag link.

How much meat are on these drums? I always thought they were manufactured right at minimum tolerances, and couldn’t be turned.

I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.

I was always told they were fat and could be turned beyond the minimums. “but just for our cars, customers buy new drums.”

Wish I had a lathe to turn drums here.

Ben there are loads of turns that can be done to drums… so long as it’s a clean up.. 😎  We just skim them clean and straight so the brakes work the way they should!  😎  You’d know if the adjusters were just too far out… but I doubt that would happen with new shoes..

 

We got a trike in to work on today…..  😎   The older I get…. the cooler those are looking… I think I will take Corporate out on the town when we get it running…  Give it a try…. 😎  😎

the bus all them pretty parts Pat has been prepping go into!  I have a feeling it will start getting swapped out tomorrow… waiting on some parts also.

BajaMike’s First show made on the News did interview but I promoted KCW to much it got edited out, and some SOB stole my entry plaque they give you, it was under the  seat and was there half the day someone stole after 12:00 really pissed me off

Dropped the beam out of Paul’s ‘55 this afternoon. We’ve been waiting on a couple parts which should be arriving tomorrow. Fresh parts will start going on in the morning.
