Assembled 2276cc short block and figured compression @ 8:1 with . 110” deck and 60cc heads. Fk8 cam advanced 4 degrees on strait cut gears.

Dark painted pushrod tubes don’t reflect heat back at the cylinders. 😉

Good looking vintage speed engine of Erik Thompson’s. Okrasa engine with Porsche Zenith carbs. I modified the fan shroud and Porsche linkage for him last year. Going into a black oval window beetle.

More late night parkway love for this little blue late model standard last night.

Pulled motor and replaced all trans/engine mounts. 5E58A1BF-C2A0-4816-8DD4-3E3703ABC8C4

Front shocks were incorrect, wrong length. New correct shocks installed. These bushing are always stuck.8826972C-A477-4137-8151-7DDB83D7B0783549B7EA-9834-4E43-8359-FB3ABE7B17F5

Also pulled rear drums to free stuck adjusters. Adjusted all brakes, front wheel bearings, clutch. And a few other little thing along the way.

All back together, test driven and ready to go home!20223EF4-3F7B-4AAB-8533-24A7A64A95B2

Looks great installed! Do you think the zeniths are smoother running carbs? More power? Where did you get the manifolds?

I’ve only messed with WW solex copies once, they didn’t seem all that impressive.

He has the Stefi G manifolds….same guy that made the cast OT pulley on my engine.  Check out his other ads…..he makes some killer (and expensive) stuff.

Thanks Franz!  The Zenith NDIX’s are for sure an improvement over the WW “Solex” carbs.  I’m really happy with them.  Idle & power delivery is consistent & smooth.  The Solex worked ok, but they weeped fuel from various locations.  No fuel weeping from the Zenith, dry.  I would say top end acceleration has improved.  Linkage is working well too, accurate tuning.  Engine also appears to be running cooler with new aluminum 356 oil cooler.  We will see for sure as summer temps increase.

Fuel consumption has increased, because they just sound better 😀 .

Pete is right, manifolds are from Stefi G on The Samba.  Trustworthy seller, who I’ve bought a few things from.
