Also, I’d like to keep the old CV that you’re replacing.Pat KKeymasterApril 29, 2019 at 7:53 pmPost count: 1056
^^^ Will do Sidehill.

Looking at the forums I see a lot of folks complaining that CVs labeled as Type 4 or 944 are actually Type 2, cause Type 4 or 944 are so hard to find. If they are type 2 and the type that are described as “off road prep”or “clearanced”, supposedly some are good 22 degrees, but if they are type 2 they are only 32mm wide. That may cause problems with spline length and bolt length. Just wanted to give you a heads up.John JonesKeymasterApril 30, 2019 at 8:39 amPost count: 5573
With Franz out for ten weeks,,,, it’s going to be real real easy to say no to parkway work… 😎 😎 Maybe I should get a Closed sign for out front… 😎
you irs guys and your complicated CV’s… I did hell’s revenge this weekend with swing axle, link pin, stock motor, stock mostly!!! You don’t need all that shit to get where you want to go… You just gotta drive…. 😎 😎Pat KKeymasterApril 30, 2019 at 2:41 pmPost count: 1056
Sidehill called right after John’s last. He’s was ready to come pick his car up, guess he figured he was kicked out. Cars was on the property so your grandfathered in man, “we will build it if it comes” 😎😎
Finished rebuilding and installed drivers side CV axle yesterday. Everything together correctly, clocked and phased. Waiting on a new CV joint for the pass side, it may be here tomorrow definitely Thursday.
New tail lights in.
Found a couple of broken connections going to passenger side running light/brake light.
Good to go now.
Went to set timing, noticed that carb linkages were out of sync. Linkage was bound up in the adjustment area. Pulled those off, lube everything up and reinstall. Fires right up and sounds great. Timing is set at 7° at idle, full advance , of 30°, is all in by 1900 or so RPMs.
Also took care of the right hand side fresh air tube.
We will build it if it comes.FranzKeymasterApril 30, 2019 at 2:44 pmPost count: 2789
“Clean shop Pat” on attack.
Those are some crazy thick shock shafts I see.John JonesKeymasterApril 30, 2019 at 4:28 pmPost count: 5573
I think that one just lacks a CV and then it’s ready to rip it!!!!
I just hope the parkway projects stay under control… I’d rather keep moving on things that are already here than take in more work… they are all more than willing to pay for the time… The parkway stuff will have to wait on the parkway man to heal up!!!!!!!! 😎 😎 If someone is in a pinch… hell yeah I will make an exception..8-) Not gonna stack up work…. I want to clean the slate up a bit… 😎FranzKeymasterApril 30, 2019 at 4:38 pmPost count: 2789
I heard today that the smooth gate truck wants to come in the shop for a “driver” build with a new 1914ccsidehillParticipantApril 30, 2019 at 7:23 pmPost count: 31
Thanks for the update and the photos. And I’m glad you solved the turn signal problem, and more importantly got the carb linkage figured out.
Do you think it’s OK for the fuel filter to be where it is?
The shocks are FOA gas shocks.ColeBParticipantApril 30, 2019 at 7:57 pmPost count: 1209

I think KB needs to make a call to JJ tomorrow and talk the talk. Then this should happen. I’m hoping for a quick scuff and paint and then a baby tractor and new trans. Going to be a cool early early shop truck😎 maybe…. haha the bosses need to discuss.Pat KKeymasterMay 3, 2019 at 8:10 amPost count: 1056

We tear ‘em up!sidehillParticipantMay 4, 2019 at 4:13 pmPost count: 31
I plan to run it on local trails make sure it holds up, then see which Jeep trails it will handle in the San Juans. I have property near silverton if a bunch of you want to come camp some weekend and do some trails this summer.
