Very cool! I think it is great if a VW owner is willing to get in and do what they can on their vehicles. It makes owning and driving the cars so much more fun!

Bubba has been here working on a gear engagement problem. It was isolated to the gear box, luckily Bubba had a spare to swap in. Peet helped give the whole machine a once-over and has him ready to leave for a baja mexico trip next week.DSC00688

Fuck yea ! Peets got me all hooked up for my trip ! Been kicking ass !

Heading way down Baja next week for this buses 4th trip down. The bus runs and handles better than ever before!

We changed out the trans, cleaned, lubed and replaced shift linkage and coupler,  changed clutch plate/clutch, full tune on motor and new plug wires etc,  changed fluids and filters, packed CVs, adjusted brakes, new muffler, new clutch pedal, installed cargo door window, new accelerator cable and hopefully new rims/tires !

Thanks for hospitality again ! KCW always killing it !

These guys work hard all day, everyday !

Good to see you Bubba. You and Peet loved on this rig a whole lot, nice work. Thanks for the beers and food. Enjoy the miles and warm sunny days in baja.

We will build it if it comes.

Oh man! I can’t figure out the photos from my phone ? But the drive home from KCW last week was stormy and snowy over Red Mtn. My bus ran and handled (shifted) far better than it EVER has !

Thanks a bunch Peet for all your time and knowledge !  You got her ripping. We re packed up and headed out this Friday morning.

The plan is to spend the night in Quartzite and cross at Yuma on Saturday morning. We ll be in the hot spring south of San Felipe over looking the Sea of Cortez by nightfall Sat.

    Good times ahead !

    Thanks KCW once again…

Looks great chip.   Throw a hubcap on there… I’m sure there’s one in the trailer that can be polished up ??

Thanks Dario, I just changed from the studded snow tires and am going to rotate next. Have the trim rings and hubcaps at home. Picked the bus up this afternoon. Franz rebuilt my old Decades and boy does this deluxe run great. Feels like a deuce in there. Watch out Jesse on our Moab trip this year!

Thanks again Franz for the Alternator, carb rebuild, fuel linkage adjustment, brake adjustment, valve and head work, Retro rewire and everything else.
