i thought we were homies Dan?? It’s cool, just have em convert them to subaru..but gas Subaru’s. y’all bunch of dicks! But good ones!
Subarus suck! I’m tired of hearing the Subaru guys down the street from me “rumble” ??? their cars up and down the street… Every other “car guy” here has one.
Still love and respect what you’re doing though Andy, even though you’re a shit head for “ruining” all those nice aircooleds ?????
Got the correct OG license plate light lense for the 55 today. Pretty nice.
Nice. I’m going to have to do another session on the deluxe. I should fix that reserve cable now too.
Baird’s type 34 in for a tune up an some other stuff. The engine has oil leaking from everywere. It still runs decent…but I think its time to pull and rebuild. At least a full disassembly and re-seal. We’ll have to make a plan. I don’t think right now is the time disassemble this car for a major job.
Does anybody have a spare front tun signal bulb holder? I’ve rigged this one in the past, but would like something more proper.
Looks like a nice car..another car that’s on my dream list.
Peets’s been jamming on brakes and bearings for Dan’s Mango. Should be done today.
Plug from reduction box with the shelled outer stub axle bearings.
Thanks for all your efforts guys. Some people keep VW’s in their garages. This bus has been a driver since 2010. Five times to BBB, a couple laps around Colorado, Jerome Jamboree , a few trips to Salt Lake, offroading in Moab, Shasta and countless camping trips. Almost time for another set of tires.
Dan drives the fuck out of his stuff…. 😎 Peet is knocking it out.
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
I’ve gotten used to seeing this bus fly past me at 75+ on long KCW road trips! Driven for sure!
Peet’s on the vanagon today. A/C parts.
This rig is a beast.
We will build it if it comes.
Here is a cool little parkway project. 80’s-90’s cal-look that has been sitting for 10+ years. The owners are diy restoring it. They have done the brake and fuel system, along with oil change and a new battery. Its at KCW for a check-over and major engine tune-up. I’ve torqued the heads, adjusted valves, rebuilt distributor advance mechanism, lubed the top-end, cleaned & installed new floats in the carbs. Its ready to fire up. Fingers crossed. I’m sure I’ll find the reason it was parked.
I know I should be pulling this engine to do a main seal and oil cooler seal and minimum. But the owners told me the next stop is the paint shop where it’ll most likely have the engine pulled out. We can rectify any major issues then. This is more of an evaluation of the engine condition.
At least they’re bringing it out of hibernation! Very cool. Whats the motor? Something mild; 1641/1776?
DIY has a new meaning?

The engine is running sweet! They should be really happy. 3 day tune-ups are not cheap.
I was told 1776cc. It had some fancy valve spring retainers I noticed. Idled and drove nicely so it must be a smaller cam.
