I hope the clean shop will be maintaining local VW’s for ever. I would hate to have to sell my VW’s and buy a Subaru.
Love this Rig!!!!! I dream of finding one like this that has been hiding in a garage and the owner has lost interest!!! Does that even happen?????? 😉
And I guess I’ll say it……… Paint It All Green!!!!!!!!

All this Subaru talk just makes me think of all the lesbians driving them in Canada, maybe it’s different in America??
I Dunno??? Most Mericans I know that run Subies are just sick of paying 5G for 160 HP!!!

Vintage speed, baby! Pay 2x for 1/2 as much! Woot! *Smiley emoji*
Cheap, reliable power. The subaru is the Chevy 350 of the VW world. People don’t stuff them into their classic Ford’s b/c they’re period correct. It’s all good though…if we all liked our VW’s the same way then none of them would be unique.
What happens in 20 years when a subaru engine is considered vintage? Its going to cost 10k to rebuild.
You guys are getting lucky with good runners right now…sooner or later they’ll all be junk like aircooled vws currently are.
I’ll be here with a pile of good parts to fix all these hack jobs. 😎 Telling all these subaru owners that the aircooled they trashed is going to cost them 20K to reinstall.
My point is to keep buying aircooled VW parts so that the current suppliers/manufactures stay in business providing parts to fix our cars.
How about the zombie apocalypse? Electro magnetic pulse bombs? You know what vehicles will be still roaming the earth? Chevy 350s and aircooled VWs.
In a weird way, I look at VW’s as my contribution to a smaller carbon footprint on this planet. Every time we buy a new car, a new “this and that” we increase out foot print ten fold. Using a junk yard, or cast away Subaru for an engine is also decreasing that foot print somewhat. I’m also not dropping another 5K on less reliable horse power. By recycling old cars and engines, it makes me feel pretty good.
My next bus, if the purchase goes through will get a nice SP 1641 engine that I have all the stuff to build.
