Fresh ball joints for Kylie’s 68’ yesterday.
Syncros are shot in the trans. Pulled to send off for a rebuild.
We will build it if it comes.FranzModeratorJune 22, 2022 at 9:15 amPost count: 5297
Had a super beetle come in for a tune-up. It looked like it had a stock engine, stock carb + stock exhaust. I couldn’t get it to run right. It didn’t want to pull any vacuum on the low end…like it has a big/long duration cam. Called the owner, an they said “yeah the guy we bought it from said something like that”. Choked out on the higher RPMs with the stock carb/exhaust, and not moving enough air at low RPM. My only advise was to install 36 dells(Empi) and better flowing exhaust.FranzModeratorJune 23, 2022 at 8:46 pmPost count: 5297
Yeah runs good. I installed the engine and drove around today. Issue with a brand new fuel sender not working…and super beetle requires tank removal to get at it. Messed around all afternoon and decided to put the 1/2 working original back in.Ragtop RonParticipantJune 27, 2022 at 6:39 pmPost count: 342
Brandon’s BAJA is in for all kinds of shit!FranzModeratorJune 27, 2022 at 9:26 pmPost count: 5297
Why you always bring me junk?!
Brandon’s car got a 1 3/8 Empi/bugpack 5/1600 style exhaust. It’s loud without the baffle. I tuned it with the o2 sensor and ended with 115 main/62 idle jets.John JonesModeratorJune 28, 2022 at 8:23 amPost count: 10870

My friend Scott Hodges has a 63 Volvo. I think he wants to sell it for $2500. It ran a few years ago, but has sat since then. I was tasked with making it run again…I took the whole fuel system apart as it had some terrible smelling fuel in it. Planning on a fuel tank clean-out, fuel pump, and carburetor rebuilds. My first time messing with SU carburetors. The floats stopped floating…So I’m on hold until we order parts in.ryans65ParticipantJuly 2, 2022 at 10:37 amPost count: 173
I had a 58 PV a few years ago, really cool cars and actually pretty peppy and handle well. If I were closer I’d gladly pay the $2500!Douglas E FreshParticipantJuly 4, 2022 at 9:32 amPost count: 257

I had a good couple of days wrenching on the red 66 I got from Jesse/Zoey. Serviced and installed the engine. Driving again.FranzModeratorJuly 4, 2022 at 12:56 pmPost count: 5297
