Test Pilot @ Submarine AirwaysFranz and Pat were ALL over it yesterday!!! 😎 Thanks guys…
Just a MC swap to go on this up front.
We will build it if it comes.
Doug…retro sound arrived yesterday along with the rear window seal. Installed.
Those we’re last items as far as I know.
Come and get it! Bring a battery if you want to drive it home.
We will build it if it comes.
Shoot me a call or text with total and we will be right there
Thanks Doug. The beetle is looking great, I n ver should have sold it.
Working on Jim’s baywindow some more. I think I may have went to high school with this 1970 VW bus. Does Rasmussen ring any bells?
Anyways, the brake system was a whore to bleed. I found the Empi master cylinder had the piston/bleed port not aligned correctly, thus not allowing fresh brake fluid to be sucked through the front half of the system. I fixed it on the bench with some clever adjustments. Then power washed everything to prep for engine/alternator/clutch repairs tomorrow.
You guys have been jumping hurdles and knocking em out this week!!!! 😎 Woohoo!!
Almost caught up on parkway projects… 😎 Although Rusty offered me to come up to Durango and work for a few days…. 😎 Humm… might take him up on it… 😎 But I got Jim Cusato’s thing this weekend… So I gotta stick around till Sunday for sure… 😎
Pulled the fan shroud and found more caked dirt/grease. So I did another power wash session.

….KCW goes “on the road” for shop work ??
Hope to see you !
^^^ Pretty sure that’s a special group. I’d bet your in it.
We will build it if it comes.
Engine stacked back together with a new alternator. I did a quickie rattle can job on the fan shroud, welded the thermostat flaps open, and replaced the oil cooler seals.
Pretty nice bus here,, Gonna be even better when clean shop gets done!! Whom ever owns this bus… should polish the shit out of it!!!! 😎
New clutch, head torque, valve adjust, and added a draft tube type oil filler to help with case pressure/oil leaks. I just installed the engine.
a bunch of electrical repairs, a new battery cable, new light housing and a rigged battery stap. -
