Oh those are the fake Porsche looking brakes… 😎 Boy your car makes a funny noise when pushed… You sure you got that trans all out together right? It’s leaking from the backing plate too… 8-( You plan on having us get it back to daily driver status?

As Pat said the new transmission “ is loosely bolted in”😂. Poor little beetle is what happens when projects start and stop a hundred times😐. I apologize for the hot mess, but yeah driver status please. I g he ave an appointment in Junction on Thursday, I’ll stop by with the key and tins.. thanks GuysRiley KParticipantJune 6, 2022 at 9:20 amPost count: 89
Ripped out the old insulation and headliner on Friday. It was extremely dirty to say the least. Took a while to scrape all the bits that didn’t come out in big chunks.
Took the interior quarter panels out to find a surprise underneath.
Then stuck Retro Sound in the cargo area behind the backseat and in the quarter panels.Pat KModeratorJune 6, 2022 at 11:31 amPost count: 2749
The inside of you car was a mess! All the old insulation had started to fall apart so out it all went.
Riley laid down fresh retro sound on the rear parcel tray and quarters.
I cleaned/inspected, repaired/prepared all of the mechanical sunroof parts for install. Rail location clips are unusually missing. Only one broken one this time.
Old seals suck!
Ready to go.
We will build it if it comes.Douglas E FreshParticipantJune 6, 2022 at 2:56 pmPost count: 246
I wonder if the retro sound will insulate sound as well as the floormat?
Thanks Pat and Riley. Looking goodJohn JonesModeratorJune 6, 2022 at 3:42 pmPost count: 10420

Doug… please bring everything that we will be dealing with, tins, seats, carpet, keys, etc… when you roll by on Thursday.
Padding around windows and b-pillars done. Headliner around rear window, pass & driver sail panels, and driver b-pillar done.
We will build it if it comes.John JonesModeratorJune 7, 2022 at 6:36 amPost count: 10420

Riley installed rubber and trim on the rear quarter windows. He’s installing fresh engine bay seals now.
Cleared all the drain tubes before hanging the main section.
Pass b-pillar and qtr window seal wrapped. Main headliner stretched. Now to cut a big hole in it for the sunroof.
We will build it if it comes.JasonSParticipantJune 7, 2022 at 1:08 pmPost count: 328Douglas E FreshParticipantJune 7, 2022 at 8:46 pmPost count: 246
Thank you so much Pat and Riley. It looks fantasticJohn JonesModeratorJune 8, 2022 at 6:10 amPost count: 10420
Parkway work is no different than the resto work when it comes to complications… Taking too long and the bill being something to have to reckon with.. every time… Plus, only working on part of the car, insures only part of the car is dialed in, and some other part of the car is sure to fail, and in probably 10 miles or less!!!!!
I think we need to do more driving and road time after we get one done.. I guess charge $100 and drive out to palisade and fruita and get it hot…
Drivability is important… especially when the bills get up around $10K on a drive in job…. 😎 Yeah… happens so fast…

I go into these things assuming its going to cost a minimum of 25% more than estimate. If Franz tells me 5k I plan for 7K.John JonesModeratorJune 8, 2022 at 2:39 pmPost count: 10420
