This rig has been quite the project for many many reasons… Thanks for pushing through and fixing everything… David is going to absolutely love this rig!!!!!
Baja Mike is here today for oil change and some valve cover gaskets.
Franz has changed more oil and more valve cover gaskets than the average guy 😎 😎 😎 Valves… shit.. he could do em in his sleep!! 😎
I can’t believe how nice this baja still is… blows me away!!! A true pavement pounding baja right there… Not one scratch on the bottom side!!!
David Cusato drove away in the chestnut brown 60 yesterday. Fully dialed in…Just needs some more overspray removal and buffing to be 100%
Jim’s celebration is on the 18th of next month at the Lincoln park car show.
Working on a really nice karmann ghia these last couple of days. All new fuel hoses, filler neck and vents. New fuel pump, plugs, plug wires, and a rebuilt Bosch 009…..got it to run well.
I noticed today that the rear brake e-brake bar was installed backwards, and the axle nuts were not tight…worn splines resulting. I did a brake job and assembled/adjusted the rear brakes correctly. Along with checking all nuts/bolt on the chassis.
I went on a test drive, yup, brakes are great, engine feels good, but the steering sucks….back at the shop it looks like the steering box is worn past adjustment. Taken apart and ready for the new Empi unit that needed adjusted and painted first.
See this draft tube boot? It’s hard as a rock and not letting the crankcase vent. This is the oil leak problem. The original owner traded in a 67 porsche 912, got a new car and some money back!!!
I bet they wish they had the Porsche back now. Lol.

Dawn drove her ghia home yesterday. Y’all will be seeing her driving around Grand Junction this summer.
Cool car Cool story!!!!!! Glad it got some KCW love!!!! ❤️ 😀😀😀
Hey Franz. Was going to try to head up this afternoon. Will someone be around if i get there around 530?
Thanks

Working on detailing Fuchs for a PwP. Suspension and brake upgrade as well for Dusty next week.
We will build it if it comes.
Well, I think winter may finally be over, so I unwrapped the Mini T buggy. Would it be OK to bring it down this coming week and drop it off for the welding repair I spoke to Franz about ?

Sounds good to me John!!
I want to do more parkway work and less restoration work from here going forward!!!!! 😎 So bring em on!!!!! 😎 😎 😎 That work pays better and in most cases easier to get paid for in a timely manner!!!! Which keeps the gears lubed and the wheels turning… 😎 😎
