Going to just drive the Ram to Havasu.  Hang out there, then drive to La Paz. I’d rather get the bus back together for Shasta. Then I have a reason to come back from Mexico.

Have you talked with Donna? I’m not sure if she still wants to take the beetle to Mexico.

Pat and I are working on this 73 beetle today. Fixing all kinds of electrical, defrost, stereo, hood release cable, and blasted/painted wheels.

I haven’t talked to Donna again. Would have to have title, registration,  and Mexican insurance to tow it down to her. That will give me reason to go back down again.

I think someone was backing up with the door open and ripped it off on something. Because the door hinge rivets we’re all busted loose too.
What a mess. Paint touch up today.

The lower hinge pin was in three pieces, just barely hanging on. I couldn’t get it to press out…and drilling is not an option because the pin is hardened.  So, I cut an ear off and heated the center portion to red hot to knock the broken piece out. Pat dug out a new hinge half and prepped it for me.

Yep she shined-up nicely. Plus the repainted wheels give the car a whole new look/feel.

Pretty much ready to go. Needs fueled-up and driven around the block a few times. …and a new horn button should be here today.👏

She’s pretty much finished. Still a couple small electrical issues to work out…the fuel gauge seems to read low, And the passenger rear running light popped a fuse when I slammed the door ??? I’ll fix this stuff Monday morning, and then it’s ready for delivery to Donna.

I spent yesterday doing a rear brake job and fixing the headlight circuit/switch. It’s like everything I touch has 5 different problems…This car was a true can of worms….I think we got them all worked out.

I bet a set of stock hub caps would dress it up even more.
