Looking Good!!!
JJ is back on it today too 😎
Her first life was spent in Central America until 1978 then was driven to Missouri where it and its owner followed the grateful dead.
Our Panama Delivered Westies lived very similar lives. Mine followed the Dead with “Sunshine” for the LSD painted on the roof, “We love you Jerry” painted on the rear hatch belt line, and “Keep on Trucking” logo painted on the rear quarter panel where a deluxe would have a 4th window. Also, mine lived in the great lakes region in the 70s.
Did you ever find a fridge for this bus? I’m still looking for one for you.
Super pumped to see this bus painted!
Cool stories behind these busses…
I have been going over things and all this primer to make sure it looks good…. Pat is outside blasting the rain gutter right now!!!! 😎 😎 😎
Gonna get rid of the rust in the gutters weld the couple holes made and smooth out the imperfections up there on the roof… 😎
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
Made good progress yesterday. Cleaned up all of the deeply pitted areas on the roof and cleaned all the sand out after blasting.
We will build it if it comes.
Started on pinhole repairs along the pass side rain gutter this morning.
Bunch along the lower edge of the roof and a few in the gutter lip.
Straightening out and bent areas. Good all the way up to the front pass door.
Riley is sanding the entire roof prepping for bodywork/primer.
Above the pass door was bad! Forgot a pic before I cut it out.
Fabed a new section. Fit and tacked in.
We will build it if it comes.
Finished the repair above pass door and straightened several bent spots around the gutter yesterday.
Riley finished sanding the roof and helped with some pin work to finish out our day.
This dent was deep! I’m on the fourth round of pins this morning. One more round should do it.
We will build it if it comes.
Straight killing it!!
her friends are anxiously awaiting her return..
Pats about got this roof ready to prime!!! RTP!!! 😎 a couple good coats of poly.. give us something to sand.. 😎 He just found a few more pin holes in the gutter he is welding up now!!! 😎
After we get the roof polied.. I think we will get the first primed area spotted and reprimed… The only area not worked would be from B to D pillars above the belt line, below the gutter, apron, engine lid and rear hatch to look over.. I noticed the rear hatch has reflectors, stay?? weld up the screw holes?? can always redrill if you want them… Engine lid is a little haggard but usable..
Panama Red is so close to having a fresh new look… 😎 😎 😎
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
After finishing pin work on the roof I spent the rest of Tuesday and a good chunk of yesterday getting it body worked.
Riley helped with masking before we knocked out the primer session yesterday evening.
We will build it if it comes.
Sorry for the delayed update…nothing exciting just lots of sanding and body work.
Thursday I finished all bodywork below the belt line and detail sanded all the nooks and crannies.
Yesterday JJ and I body worked and sanded from the rain gutters down to the belt line and knocked out the final primer session.
We will build it if it comes.
That’s a TON OF WORK!!!! Hope there is lots of cold beer in the fridge!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😀👍😀😀👍👍😀
Wow.. now the whole thing is in primer!!!! Well, minus the rear hatch and engine lid… engine needs some love… hatch is pretty nice. Hey Creig , are we keeping them reflectors?
what do ya think Creig…. ready for some color???
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
