Working on semaphores today. Omar ordered some rebuild pieces from Kafer Nostalgie. I had to refit/profile the bent arms to the lenses.

Welded cracks, sandblasted, and prepped for new paint.

Semaphore rebuild today. The cloth covered wire has failed. I drilled/made new 5/32” brass tube rivets to fully replace the wire at the soldered junction.

Then fit Kafer Nostaglie lenses and bulb contacts.

Fully functional for about 5 seconds on 12 volt. Haha 😆 I’m going to wire in a voltage dropper or two to prevent them from melting down.

Omar brought his car in today for his semiphores! Franz has been working on those today 👍🏻
Omar told me he’s been driving it as a daily since getting in a little accident in his new car!! sure Omar… we know what you really did there 😉😉

They are in and functioning. Also doing a suspension adjustment…it was a little tall on the rear.

I dabbled some paint in the semaphore pockets along with the inside of the driver door.

Hinge pin pressing and reaming is stressful on a painted car.

Had some issues with the brakes. Leaking front wheel cylinder. I honed the bore and replaced the rubber cups.

The rear brakes had a large shoulder from old machine jobs that was catching the drum.

I got the cip1 flashing semaphore bulbs in today, it should help with modern traffic.  Thanks Franz for the tips! ( I didn’t know they had polarity ).  The negative end goes to the arm and the positive end goes to the lens contact.
