Looks like a blast. How did the re-phased XS650 do on the track? Competitive with the flat head Harley?

The tank shift Harley is a big heavy bike.. Cole was getting her loose though.

I came off of the line great, slotted into second, but messed up shifting into 2nd gear and got passed on turn 2 by a real flat track racer xs650 and spent the rest of the race trying to get around that guy.  Over-cooked it and slid out.

It was a super-short track… so not much WOT, but yeah plenty of power.

Our local drag strip set aside a area for a flat track…but not much has happened this year. If  we can get that going, I would be down to help work on it for sure.

I want to take my bike all apart and change a bunch of stuff to be more competitive. I need more practice too. 🙂

So much fun! Im so glad the KCW boys came out. Was super fun trying this type of racing out! That Harley is big and hard to ride. But its loud and super fun! turned lots of heads. people couldn’t believe it is a 47. Im glad I could get roosted a bit by Franz and some of the fast twin bikes. Super fun throwing that basket case KSL special xs 650 together with Weston the last 5 days. We barely got it to the race. But it ran ok other than the smoke… haha. I think we have a pretty dead cylinder. So it is time to tear it apart. Talked with NEWBOLD this morning about doing some head work for us. It will be a good winter project to do with my bro! This Australian guy on a 2 stroke was RIPPING. So fun. everyone was so nice. Got to meet some cool people. Hopefully more motorcycle events out here in the future!

 

Happy I whopped Franz’s ass;) hahaha I was happy behind Franz. He is so fast. I just got lucky with his slide out!

Too bad you didn’t find this tutorial sooner – I bet you wouldn’t have spun out of your race had you known to use your 6 to 9 pound head as a counterweight.
