Thanks John for the advice. Easy fix for sure.
Gretchen, it was great to hang out for a couple hours with you all. I pop in my garage all the time to just admire the amazing work KCW did. Can wait to get the registration updated and log some miles (or at least drive to work)
Yeah yeah yeah, I know everyone is nervous about having the fuel filter in the engine bay. Filters work best under pressure…not under vacuum. Installing a filter before the pump is asking for vapor-lock issues. With a mechanical fuel pump the only place a filter should be installed is in the engine bay…. We have also positioned it low and out of the way, so that if it does fail its not going to drip on any of the ignition components.
Plus, its easier to look at and service in a place where you can see it.

I knew you all had a well thought out reason behind the placement. 👍
Another vote for filter in the engine compartment. I run the line long and over the coil bracket so any pull is on the coil and not the carb. I need to see if gas is flowing, my tank might be empty.
Yours is the first I’ve heard of just splitting – fluke. Knowing how cheap aftermkt parts are now it’s not surprising.
Mike you have one awesome looking DC.!!!!! Great work guy as always.
Jesse, whats up with all the video and pictures you were taking on the roosters cruise?
MIke since your out of town this week, I will paint and send your hub cap next week, when someone will be home to get it… 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
Sounds good! Take your time. Looks like you have a big delivery this weekend. 👍
The good news about having those sweet WagensWest brakes is the DC looks great without caps as well.

I agree.
Let’s see some pics of this beauty around her neighborhood.
We will build it if it comes.
I took the Double Cab to get Texas state inspection today. No problems, except the guys at the shop couldn’t figure out how to push the seat back (it doesn’t adjust), shift into reverse, and they didn’t know if it was a bus or a truck. Updating the registration tomorrow, then I’ll shoot some pics around here.
Friggen bunch of kids out there now days. Probably grew up with nothing but auto trans and self adjusting heated / cooled seats.
😆. I’m starting to think the shift lock is unnecessary, as a standard transmission alone is the best theft deterrent for modern thieves.
The CrewCab is now legal in the Republic of Texas.
Haha. Yeah, kind of like the new jetta tv commercial. 🙂
Franz…speaking of shifters…Driving around and dialing things in, I realized the bend in the Gene Berg shifter arm is leaning a little to much towards the driver. I gotta move my legs in order to get out of the way for reverse. I’d like to clock the stick at the base, so that it is more in line with the centerline of the truck (ie. the stick bends straight back). Before I open up that shifter to rotate toward the centerline, without a install manual, I just wanted to check if that rotation is do-able or are there any collars or pins that prevent rotation.
