More sanding today., this is going to take some time to sand and buff everything….   I started with the worst part to do…  GATES….   I’m gonna cut the whole thing down with 1000 and 1500 and let breathe and buff it all at once.  I doubt I will be done till next week sometime…

Yo corey…. I was just curious what grits you sand and buff..  I 1000 grit by hand, with a soft block, then 1500 same way and start buffing… I’ve heard of guys buffing out 1200…  Just curious..  😎

Gates are about done… fun fun.. so many lines!!! soooo many chances of buffing through… 😎

Shit, I’ve heard about guys wet sanding to 4000 before buffing. Seems crazy to spend so much time on something so temporary.

Generally I don’t buff shit. if that’s what someone wants I try to not do the job. I paint in a garage lol

But if I absolutely have to I do the dirt nibs with 1000 then do an all over 1500. i did buy a 3″ DA with an assortment of wet grits. also have 1000 and 1500 for  6″ used to use trizact 3000 at the bodyshop. depending on how hard the paint is I’ll go with a wool pad, but usually just a white waffle then the black.

Gates suck I wouldn’t sand anything you cant get your buffer on burn through city on those edges.

Love the progress.  All the sanding and burn through talk makes me so nervous considering how nice the paint job is/was.  The Crew Cab is going to look so good!
