We got a bunch of parts yesterday. I messed up and ordered 64-67 link pins…should have the correct ones on Friday. Doh! I started assembling the shifter stuff….it looked like the key for the Gene Berg locking shifter is missing. I took the lock to our local key shop to see if they can make one. Also, I have not seen any door handle keys?

I may have the shifter key.  It is my only one, so I think I unlocked the shifter and kept the key.  I’ll have to check the bus keyring tonight.  Do you need me to send it?

The door and ignition are a matching WW set.  It thought I saw the key in the ignition in one of the pictures.  Let me know if that’s lost.  I can try to get one made and sent based on the second key that I have.

WW has L345 hubcaps. We should buy these and re-paint them? http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=211601151

Looks good to me.  Go ahead and order.  We can plan to paint them, but see how they look once they arrive.

Sweet on the ignition key…  I should have tried it… when I saw the aftermarket everything, I figured we would be using after market keys… and un matching… But I do recall WW doing that lately… SWEEET!  I can unlock that pass door now… 😎

Wheels look awesome… and you have the appropriate 2 crows feet for the rear and the other three regular bus wheels… 😎

It’s been awhile since I talked about or showed off my hubcap clip installation tool…  It’s the best and fastest I have seen, it also does all three size VW rims…  I should make these and sell em… like 3 of them woohoo  😎

The lock shop was able to make a key…so the shifter is good to go. I polished and installed the base after carefully trimming the floor mat to fit.

All the work looks amazing!  The painted parts going to be sweet on that truck.  The motor sitting next the truck is a great shot!  I can almost picture it in the engine bay.

That hubcap clip installation tool is a sweet little set up.

Franz glad you were able to get a key made for the shift lock, I won’t worry about sending mine then.

No bang, bang today. Sorry Mike.

Had to run to Parker store for full flow hardline parts this afternoon. Got that twisted up and on. 3C3B432B-6E81-4AAE-B633-87978634876B1EB6460C-4A63-4926-A73A-16190979C8CB

Ran fuel and breather lines, plug wires, synced carb linkage, welded a breather bung onto pass  side valve cover, few other misc. bits in there. F88D8E96-CB55-4851-A5CD-F9E94E53A85742D41AA8-C4FF-4227-A562-C1C0608F8496C609B4B8-D0B7-4980-80E9-A8025F3EB086

Filled her up with break in oil. All ready to fire in the morning. 3685DCF2-F14E-491C-8E57-78A3A1C49625

    Franz,

Have you seen or used the CSP heater box to fresh air hose extenders? Well worth the price for these exhausts.

Franz doing his thing..  you can bet this will drive better than you even expect…  the years of experience in assembly and driving our shit.. Helps us to put a bus together you can depend on..  Franz is second to no one when it comes to VW mechanicals…  Thanks Franz..  Thanks Pat….  He’s been a huge help in the clean shop since the man broke his ankle..

I don’t know why VW had different design for the Brazilian steering boxes.  Driving with that steering box was super stechy.  Maybe there are other changes to Brazilian buses that compensate for the steer box.  I’m glad to have it back to a German part.  The truck is looking immaculate!
