Couple pics from yesterday.
Cable tubes were a bit backed up. All cleared out now. 💩
We will build it if it comes.mdubgParticipantJune 1, 2019 at 11:18 amPost count: 294
Brake line install is looking clean!!!
That’s some nasty 💩 that you cleaned out. At least they had some lube on them.John JonesKeymasterJune 2, 2019 at 7:48 amPost count: 6526
yeah… cable tubes are usually a messy job!!!! but it sure makes a difference on how your controls “feel” and operate!!! Things are going together… and everything is looking good… every piece we add to the pearl grey makes it look better and better!!!!! Still lots to do of course.. I need to get the beam painted so it can be assembled… I need to locate your rims so we can get them dismounted, blasted and painted too… Still have bumpers to deal with too and the dc pedestal….
2 more weeks???? 😎mdubgParticipantJune 2, 2019 at 11:14 amPost count: 294
End of the month???
I’ve got some time the last weekend of June before Independence Day. Working thru the logistics/wife-&-kids now.John JonesKeymasterJune 3, 2019 at 8:32 amPost count: 6526
Gonna handle stuff that needs some paint on it today…. 😎
Mike… I know you don’t want to put that pointy bumper on your seamed gate DC????? Wolfsburgwest rear bumper?mdubgParticipantJune 3, 2019 at 8:39 amPost count: 294
Your right. Go ahead and order a WW bumper to match the truck.Pat KKeymasterJune 3, 2019 at 5:30 pmPost count: 1352
Back seat pedestal required a bit of love.
Dug some engine tin out. Need to order a couple of small pieces.
Mounted trans to start assy. tomorrow, because…
…JJ prepped, sealed, and painted drive terrain and suspension parts today.
Dug out wheels. Will have the dismounted tomorrow and get them blasted along with engine tin.
We will build it if it comes.mdubgParticipantJune 3, 2019 at 8:31 pmPost count: 294
Drivetrain is looking good. Can’t wait to see it come together, especially the front beam with those front disks.
Keep the best one of those old tires to mount back on the spare.Pat KKeymasterJune 5, 2019 at 7:21 amPost count: 1352
JJ body worked and primed the pedestal yesterday. Will most likely see some color later today.
I got started on trans assy. We need to order new bearings for the redux boxes. That should happen today along with a few other pieces as well.
Finished blasting parts this morning. We decided to lightly blast the wheels and keep the tough as nails powder coat as a base.
Working on tin fits and repairs this morning.
We will build it if it comes.John JonesKeymasterJune 5, 2019 at 8:21 amPost count: 6526
Easy day yesterday… 😎 😎
I’m going to paint L21 today on the last few parts… Then back to more assy!!!!! I could paint rims I guess…. yeah…. But I’m waiting on the bumpers till I have a slash rear…mdubgParticipantJune 5, 2019 at 3:13 pmPost count: 294
Sounds good….Love seeing the assembly!
Makes sense to wait on the rims until you have all the white parts. I had no idea that those rims had already been powder coated.John JonesKeymasterJune 5, 2019 at 3:43 pmPost count: 6526
paints done, setting up spring plates now.. going with 22 degree’s Like we did Rusty’s. shift rod with fresh bushings…. smooth as silk…. 😎 Beam going in also….. I reckon, I could take some pics…. 😎 I heard customers like them!!!! 😎 especially on Thursdays… 😎mdubgParticipantJune 5, 2019 at 5:35 pmPost count: 294Pat KKeymasterJune 6, 2019 at 7:40 amPost count: 1352
Pics! Off the dolly, woohoo!!
Fresh pearl grey.
Suspension going in.
I was able to get all the tin fit and exhaust yesterday. The vintage speed stuff is super nice and feels really solid. Going to weld up heater box flanges then start body working tins this morning.
Made up a double barrel draft tube.
Big holes for fresh air tubes.
Looking tight and right!
We will build it if it comes.
