Yeah, that is nice. Probably made by Dave Fuentes….who you already paid for one…it would be nice to get. I’m going to email him again.

I tried to order a set of those panels. Emailed a number of times and never heard back. I bet Doug could make them.

Clara can be reached at claralw@aol.com or through any of her ads on thesamba. If you emailed her about a product she doesn’t currently offer that might be a reason she didn’t follow up with you. We recently moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and are working towards getting caught up. Feel free to try again. You can also email me at campingbox@yahoo.com

We do not currently offer a barndoor uberkombi kit. We did start one, and we do have the lower perimeter, bulkhead, and above rear engine panels 98% finished. This includes the rear deck panel with the metal rails. If someone with a barndoor Kombi wants to schedule to bring me a bus to have the patterns finalized and hire me to install the set that could be discussed.

We have not started a barndoor headliner set. I believe our 55-63 set will work from the bulkhead back. I would be happy to work with a customer to develop patterns to fit the front. I would also like to modify our rear patterns to more closely follow the barndoor technical bulletins we have.

We always want to have a finished install under our belt before offering any of our products available by mail order.

Thanks Greg. We already started making some panels. Good tip on the luggage rail strips. I’ll get some.

BD commercial buses originally should not have any kind of headliner, correct?

Barndoor Kombis originally had the cab door panels and underdash kick panels, which we offer, nothing else.

    Right.

Would a period correct M coded Uber Kombi have a headliner?

Can’t say I’ve ever seen a panel board headliner in a BD cab.

Got the transaxle back from Painter’s Grinding and installed.

Soon to have interior panels installed.

When can you make it out to pick it up?

this project just makes me shake my head…  I dunno what happened to make this drag out so long… But I really really really really wish it could somehow find it’s way home….  and Kelly and me both be happy about the whole thing…. Thats my goal……  😎  😎

But now…. we gotta make some time to put the motor back in and I need to fix three big ol bad spots in the paint now…. Get some sort of interior in it, find some window sliders and mount all those seats sitting in it…..

I need to move it up my priority list…

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

That crack in the nose was right through an emblem hole, and I can see the emblem must not have matched the nose holes perfectly.. and one was filled out…. Common… and common that there will eventually be a crack develop in the exposed metal and bondo… Broken edges!!!!    Can’t leave anything exposed to the elements…  especially if left out side like I have been doing to this poor beauty…   anyway..  the other holes were untouched and beautiful.  After grinding out the filler and working it some.. the hole was too big and the metal too thin… it was bound to do it again..   So, I ended up cutting out a chunk about the size of a quarter, welding in new metal and re drilling the hole in the correct spot.  Now I am at poly and going to repaint some panels… I’m not gonna even mess around with a blend..  😎

Hope to have this paint stuff done by Monday… Get the motor back in it and driving again.. and move to the next step!    I say we try and have this thing ready to ship out of here early May!!!!!!! 😎

How about a new Barn Door to cruise around this summer Kelly???? 😎  😎
