Yup ethanol sucks donkey dong! You can get hose that is apparently resistant to the shit….the cloth braided “German” stuff doesn’t seem to last. Like u say cheap insurance, just change it every spring….can’t imagine standing on side of road watching one of my cars roast!

Also something nobody seems to talk about in Aircooled world is how much ethanol affects your tune, percentages are all over the map and when you jet/tune for one tank of gas and hit the next greedy wallet sucking station get a whole different cocktail of garbage. Almost always end up lean!

In my neck of the woods the higher the octane the less the ethanol….only fuel I’ll run in my 55 is chevron 94 they claims no ethanol…..love the way that shit smells ? It’s only $6.50-$7 a gallon ?

Yep , ethanol sucks. I just paid 2.90 a gallon for ethanol free for my jetta and my 65. Fuel jumped 50 cents a gallon because…. HURRICANE!

Hey Pete and Scott and all you other lowland costal SC, GA, and FL guys. What’s your plans? You going to evacuate or try to ride it out. I got family from Myrtle beach probably coming inland to stay with us in the upstate. You all stay safe and we will be praying for you all.

Be safe and have a productive day folks!

Watching the track; plan is to stay for now.  My mother has not been in great health so we’re getting her to Atlanta to stay w/ family so there’s no interruption in her dialysis.

I feel for the FL folks.  Hang in there.

Yep, looks a little better for SC today ,but FL looks like it is going to get hammerd.

Here is something interesting for you folks. The scrap markets were looking to go up this month but now with Harvey killing 200,000 cars or more and buildings and infastructure we look to stay sideways. So much Scrap material it is affecting our markets. Now we have Irma , and Jose ……. I just hope them two die out a lot before land fall.

I got my garage packed tight. took videos and pictures of everything. I’m only headed inland about 15-20 miles, but at least I’m off the island. Looks like a cat 1 by the time it gets to me after fucking up all the miami boy’s donks.

A blast from the past. My old ’66 with the “chick” built 1776 engine. Hell of a road tripper.
