I know I’ve said this before and I’m going to see it again Guys because it applies to all of us! CHECK YOUR FUEL LINES!!!!!!!!!!!The carbs on my single cab always leak a little gas so I expect a little fuel smell but last week it was stronger than usual so finally I lifted my deck lid and noticed that one of my fuel lines need to be replaced BADLY!!! 😥 😥 had to buy $4.50 a foot fuel injected line at Orielly cuz that’s all they had but WAY cheaper than a new Rig!!!!

I would be lying through my teeth if I said I didn’t miss your help… 😉 😉 It was pretty sweet having a guy who showed up about 2 hours before me and started the day and was prepping and sanding when I walked in the door… Thanks for your years of service to the Volkswagen Trade! I imagine Nascar as been even more fun and eventfull than KCW…

I keep a bunch of fuel line in my bus.. extra filter, some clamps, both sizes of line etc… Yeah.. I’ve had it happen also… Thats how a lot of people end up with Hose clamps on their german line.. which it is not supposed to use.. I don’t use em.. unless I HAVE to..
I agree.. Check those fuel ines. OPEN your decklid at every gas stop… and you will usually catch it.. and Like Rusty said… pay attention to the smells and feels of your vw.. and you’ll be fine. 😉

I’m pretty sure its caused by the ethanol fuel blend that every gas station sells. I’ve noticed more problems with floats and fuel hose the last few years.
All you aircooled VW guys need to look for a gas station that sells ethanol-free gas.
