Where were you stationed, John?  I went to basic in San Antonio then tech school for a year at Keesler in MS.  I followed that up with a short tour in Guam at Anderson AFB.  I was out by 90.  I imagine that we were both in around the same time.

I went in June 1990..  I got a good afsc… Electronic Warfare..  😎  😎  Basic at San Antonio, Keesler, I was at Keesler for a over a year I think… I had the longest Tech school if I remember right,, anyway, On to Ft worth Texas, Carswell… Got a great job working in the back shop on all the “black boxes” off the B52!!! Flying fortress!!!  The buff we called.. Big Ugly Flying Fellow….I liked it.. They ended up closing and sent me to Tinker AFB in OKC.  I stayed in till I wanna say Nov of 93… when they decided to change my job to a civil Service job….  I was less than  year from getting out, and had orders to Korea, I was going to have to re-up to do my whole tour in Korea.. or they offered me an early out and a civi service job all at the same time…  😎  I really didn’t want to go to Korea, and the civi service job sounded pretty awesome and secure… Which it was… I worked at Tinker till I think 1999… I made it to a WG-14 I think…   it was the same bosses, same everything, just civilian clothes.   I feel like I did 9 years of service… 😎

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

Funny… I went to Keesler for Com-Nav and worked in SAC as well.  I probably pulled some of those black boxes at the time as I worked on the flightline.  I got out early too.  They had a budget reduction act at the time and I took advantage of if by getting out.  My Dad was a lifer but military life was not for this kid.  I brought my 66 Sundial to Guam and fought off locals trying to buy it the whole time I was there.  I finally gave in and sold, went back to the States, got another Bus and moved to Mammoth to snowboard.  Snow was bleak so I ended up here in CO.  It’s been a steady diet of Buses for me since my first in 86.

just this morning  I put 11 gallons (maybe even over 11g) in my SC at Needles?? I was OUT of gas !

The US gallon is 0.8 of an imperial gallon, so I make it that you still had plenty left…

That same fill up would have been $65 equivalent here 🤦🏻‍♂️

Dan!!! I am sooo ready for another road trip!!!!  I am thinking a spencer hot springs run may be in order!!!!  ???  I have had some of my best time in a bus with Dan,.. Your awesome Dan!!!  We miss seeing ya around here….  You need  to get on the parkway list and get yoru bus dialed in again…8-)

Sucks about the leak!  Nothing like a day of driving VWs and smelling like gasoline.
