A very old friend passed away some time back and his sister and brother in law (also old friend) are working on settling his estate. I was invited over yesterday to take a look around his boneyard to see what is going to be for sale. Well over 150 vehicles and although I didn’t count looks like 12 to 15 VWs. Three verts, several bugs and several squarebacks. Also this air cooled VW snow machine. If anyone might be interested in buying it,or any of the other stuff, let me know and I’ll put you in touch.Darrels stuff 005Darrels stuff 006Darrels stuff 003Darrels stuff 004Darrels stuff 002Darrels stuff 001Darrels stuff 007

That’s a Kristi snowcat, Colorado built. Bubba needs that! Couple of them down south here in similar condition 🙁  Sounds like some cool stuff!

Didn’t check close but I don’t think so. At least one Super Beetle, one stripped shell, and one roll over. Should I give Henry the shop number Franz ?

I think they would gladly consider an offer if someone were to be interested in all of the VW related stuff as a lot. There is also a lot of odd bits and pieces of VW stuff scattered about that would be included  for that. If my situation was a little different, I’d  already be hauling that stuff off.

Check out this buggy T trailer that I saw last night. It has to be from the 60’s.

Custom axle/spindle that uses a Barndoor bus drum…which are probably more valuable than the whole trailer.

Yeah, a couple look like they could be usable. Most seem to be loaded up with extra treasures from all over the lot.

Hey Franz, I simply take the information and type up a ‘word ‘document, then print it out on a clear transparency and use an old school overhead projector .With this technique I can make sure the info fits the panel , before I start drawing.

The ‘on tap’ image is something I drew previously and made a copy of my own work..and as you can see… once I’ve got that on a transparency,I can play with the different colours.

As a signwriter, for many years I set everything out with lead pencil and applied it freehand. However, the interior LED lights used today make the graphite pencil lines show and reflect plus using the overhead is faster and more accurate.

…. all the work is hand drawn… they haven’t invented a robot to replace me yet .
