Watching you make that has made me want to make one out of metal. Total waste of time for me, but sounds cool… Leads me to, are cool ideas typically useless ideas?

I’m a mediocre wood worker, but have built a metal 6 string. If I can remember to take my camera home I’ll take a picture for you. Metal is FAR easier to work with than wood. But then, Kevin is a master wood worker.

I have gone down the rabbit hole. I drilled a hole in the side of my guitar today. Turned a horn ,or bell whatever you want to call it. So I want your opinion in or out .

I prefer an inne over an outie. 😆

We will build it if it comes.

This is it.  Made from a busted up guitar I rescued from a trash bin, an old stop sign that had been run over by a truck, and an old porcelain wash basinsix string 001six string 002six string 004

Sounds similar to a normal guitar, but has a definite jug band twang to it.

Now all you need is a “wash tub base” John. I remember Flip Wilson always played one on his show.

Actually I have built a few.  For a period of time the music scene in Aspen had a number of jug bands and I built several different kinds of instruments for quite a few people. Many were metal based, some metal/wood, some various kinds of wood stuff, even some glass, and , of course some utilizing old jugs. Our group was “The Tilting Rock Jug Band”

Great place and one of my favorites. On any given night you never knew who might be invited to sit in for a song or a set. Could be a world recognized musician or a lift operator who was a serious talent  (even some of us who weren’t very good) and great fun. Could very well be we have spoken in the past.
