Could someone help me out? I am trying to determine the outer diameter/width of a 200 mm flywheel. I am clearancing a 6 volt bellhousing and do not want to take the engine in and out multiple times. I have been all over the Internet looking for a measurement, but nothing found. My plan is to build a template to clearance the bellhousing so perhaps I can reduce the number of times taking the engine in and out. The engine does not run and I don’t have proper tools to remove pressure plate, remount, etc.
If someone can measure one of their spare 2o0 mm flywheels and send me the measurement, I would really appreciate it. Thank you! Getting this Beetle ready to go to KCW.FranzKeymasterMay 2, 2020 at 2:38 pmPost count: 3802
Measurement is 10 15/16″ across.
I grind the lower engine mounting holes to almost paper thin. Then remove the “nubs” at the upper bolts and around the starter. You’ll also have to remove a fair amount of material at the base of the flywheel machining mark.Scott SainParticipantMay 2, 2020 at 6:43 pmPost count: 287
I did a quick detail job on the rag top tonight. These new products make it easy. And they smell great!

I used one of those Speed “Clay” Bars and Hybrid Ceramic wax last week (same exact stuff). They are awesome! Made the job so quick! It was so fast I had time to do my wife’s car also. Then I moved on to my Double Cab. I didn’t have to “Clay” it, thanks to all the buffing KCW did, but it looks like a frickin’ mirror (again) with the ceramic on it.John JonesKeymasterMay 3, 2020 at 8:26 amPost count: 7114
I am a firm believer in a sealed surface for your paint to last!!! If any kind of salt or chemical gets on it and has a chance to fester and will break through the surface and create a bad spot…. nice guys!!!KleakeParticipantMay 4, 2020 at 6:52 amPost count: 685

Took the rag top out to get some time away from the couch. This weather is perfect. Possibly the most driven KCW car ever!FranzKeymasterMay 4, 2020 at 9:24 amPost count: 3802
Ragtops are the best. Rusty’s daughter screwed-up letting that car go.Scott SainParticipantMay 4, 2020 at 10:34 amPost count: 287KleakeParticipantMay 8, 2020 at 8:46 amPost count: 685
