Looks like Viry Felix got the 1 again at the 1000. Some how she finished 5 hours before the next finisher..

806 miles ÷ 29.5 hours = 27 mph average

Wow! That’s ridiculous fast. For every hour her speed was reduced to 10-15mph she had to make up in the next by going 45-50mph. Amazing

Ya….. definitely looks like she did the 500 and everyone else did the 1000. Pretty crazy that they don’t give her a DNF for missing that much course? Maybe just because it’s class 11 they are more lenient? But you would think they would penalize her enough to put her in last since those other 2 cars actually did most of the course

We watched the live feed all day yesterday. The drone coverage was awesome!

Saw Hollenbeck roll across the finish at 11pm.

Not sure whats up with Felix’s race map. Surely 1/2 course doesn’t count for first place?

Oliver was at race mile 500 and said only 2 class 11 cars were left…. Makes sense since Viry wouldn’t have gone through there with only completing half the course…. We should sit down with a score official at some point and ask about the whole DNF if you are purposefully cutting course.

 

Also, update for the team. Jon is heading to Ensenada today with some cash for Oliver. He is going to start looking for a Jeep of some sort for pre running.

Man that baja stuff is brutal… and it’s a commitment..  I think them guys live eat and breath baja racing..  it’s a full time job..  Seems to be good at it… Your gonna have to pretty much dedicate all your time to it…  GENERATIONS of family’s try to race and win that race….  it’s quite a feat!!!
