Thanks for the fantastic insight Peet.
Sure seems to take a lot of planning and back-up to attempt this race and not for the faint hearted.
Sounds like an awesome experience for all involved.
I do like the comment that KCW had the best car in the class.
Hopefully, you caught the eye of some major sponsors.

You guys kicked ass!! Like you guys always do!!!! I’m proud of my guys for all their hard work and dedication to the hobby, the work, the customer and the car!!!! I watched things live from Creig’s house in Temecula. There was soooooooo many people there, (at the house in MX) I was just a third wheel with nothing to offer to the program..
im very curious to hear everyone’s thoughts about Mexico and Baja racing in general…..
now what??? Back to the same old same ol I reckon….??? You guys can take the week off if ya want.. or not… like usual,,, you can do pretty much what ever you want within reason!!! My shit is broke… and parts are on the way.. glad I don’t have a real time line… 😎FranzKeymasterJune 7, 2018 at 10:29 amPost count: 2186
Yeah, That was fun, crazy. We did well. Those trails are f-ed up eroded ruts and whoops for the most part. Dangerous off camber and drops too. I didn’t know what to expect. Cole and Pat killed the hills in the early morning hours. We kept the car in good shape, it got a full service yesterday and is ready for some mild trail drives. We did good on the transaxle swap in the sand too. It was a chance for us to learn and get some experience. I think we can do better in the Baja 1000 Nov. 16th.FranzKeymasterJune 7, 2018 at 10:38 amPost count: 2186
Thank you Sara Brown for getting all that stuff sorted. We had no issues.FranzKeymasterJune 7, 2018 at 12:31 pmPost count: 2186
I took the transaxle apart this morning. Looks like our welded diff became unwelded. The side gears popped out and lost mesh with the spider gears.John JonesKeymasterJune 7, 2018 at 12:33 pmPost count: 4376
Well fuck…. guess we can mark that modification off the list…8-)FranzKeymasterJune 7, 2018 at 12:50 pmPost count: 2186
Yep. At least a big nasty mig weld next time
But I think we should get some quaife’svolksaddictParticipantJune 7, 2018 at 12:57 pmPost count: 361

Emilee got a chunk of gear so big out of the oil from that blown tranny that she’s going to make a little necklace out of! That thing blew up it looks like! WowAndymParticipantJune 8, 2018 at 7:07 amPost count: 735
So what did you guys do that is a class 11 “rule or standard” now?
Nobody got hurt and the car doesn’t look beat up, sounds like fun.
Do somethingFranzKeymasterJune 8, 2018 at 7:25 amPost count: 2186
We were worried about getting the car through tech the whole time, but it was a breeze. The rule book is intimidating. The tech director was super-cool. They gave us props on Kendall’s nascar type fuel cell mounting.
