Yeah, this is great to watch develop. At the KCW pace I’m fully expecting the next photo updates to show everything in epoxy.
So…we know the Baja 500 is on the agenda. Is all of this being done solely for the Baja 500 or are there plans to race a schedule of races?FranzKeymasterMay 4, 2018 at 6:02 pmPost count: 3535
We are on cage gussets. SCORE rules require them. We had some 1″ tube in key areas before, not applicable to rules. Pat K cut them out and fabed a bunch of 1/4″ plate gussets. Same as trophy truck.
Cole has been working on the engine, almost ready to run.FranzKeymasterMay 4, 2018 at 6:03 pmPost count: 3535
Also just spoke with Cornwell from SCORE regarding cage cert. Sounds like if we can be in San Diego Sunday night we can get the pass.ColeBModeratorMay 4, 2018 at 6:40 pmPost count: 1558
Franz. Still at it. That little car gets hot with all this welding!Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantMay 4, 2018 at 7:19 pmPost count: 109
What’s the cert process on the cage? Just a visual, or are they out there with UT gauges and shit?AndymParticipantMay 5, 2018 at 7:10 amPost count: 935

Class 11 rules say a stock vw wheel 4 or 4.5″ wide x 15″ may be used. Baja champion/marthon wheels hit the mark. I found a seller in California that made us a deal on ten wheels.Critter1ParticipantMay 5, 2018 at 10:09 amPost count: 225
Wow. Nice find. He shipping all ten out to GJ?! Plenty of extras.. thats a lot of Baja rubber!
