Tons of momentum today. I welded some light mounts and along with other stuff.ColeBModeratorApril 30, 2018 at 10:40 pmPost count: 1553
JJ jammed away on those rear fenders. Pat K worked on the removable apron, max traxs and spare tire holder etc. Peet worked on engine tin, he’ll paint it up tomorrow. I cut a hole in the hood and extended the filler tube to stick just out enough to get your hands on the cap. Franz welded up some rad stuff as always. Like franz said, LOTS of momentum. Fun to have everyone working on the same carvolksaddictParticipantMay 1, 2018 at 6:08 amPost count: 591
Franz, do you get a lot of welding sparks and bondo dust in your shoes and socks with those shop pants?John JonesKeymasterMay 1, 2018 at 7:36 amPost count: 6508

HA! From time to time. You like my britches? Pants feel too “offical” for me.
Walking around on concrete all day is killer. Thin sole shoes promote healthy muscles. I’ve tried boots, but they feel like 20 pound boulders on each foot.volksaddictParticipantMay 1, 2018 at 8:32 amPost count: 591
I do! I like the thought of the coolness of shorts with the upper leg coverage of jeans but the shoes look like funnels for particulate. Far as style goes the black socks really complete the look.:)FranzKeymasterMay 1, 2018 at 8:34 amPost count: 3514
Somebody needs to make a shoe with built in socks. Like a shoe-boot without laces.FranzKeymasterMay 1, 2018 at 9:26 amPost count: 3514
Pat is fitting original stale air 40 horse fan shroud with reinforced coil mounting spot and tack welded fins. Matt trax mounted with a loop on one end and a pin on the other. Easy removal from the codriver’s side.
Duez fasteners on removable apron. Not visible as per rulesRustabusParticipantMay 2, 2018 at 5:47 amPost count: 1932

Knocking it out. Trying to do all the welding and fab. Kendall and I rolled the front fenders yesterday afternoon. We got a little more clearance….but nothing like the Robert Johnson’s or Perry’s front fenders.FranzKeymasterMay 2, 2018 at 8:04 amPost count: 3514
Does anybody have one or more baja champion wheels they could part with? Like the front wheel in the picture above.John JonesKeymasterMay 2, 2018 at 10:03 amPost count: 6508

I was going to ask the same in regards to all the mudwork on the fenders and such….isn’t this thing going to get beat to hell from the word “go?” I thought these race cars were 20 footers when it came to finishes?John JonesKeymasterMay 2, 2018 at 11:00 amPost count: 6508FranzKeymasterMay 3, 2018 at 9:46 amPost count: 3514
Dash layout and mounting is a chore that Peet is handling. Notice the yellow lever. Its a front brake proportioning valve. I’ll allow us to decrease the front brake pressure to avoid locking the front wheel and loosing direction control.
