That bottom link looks like some guys doing it!!!!!  Looks like they broke their car in half at the mint 400..  🙄  🙄  🙄   I get the impression… we are taking a knife to a gun fight.. 🙄  🙄  🙄    these little 50 year old cars aren’t supposed to finish… 😳

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

Many rules. I’m enjoying learning new stuff about cars/racing.

We’re going to have the best car. I’m very happy with the car we bought. Its professionally constructed cage, modifications, and parts list were a good start. Pat and I have been thinking about spares and the in-car kit. We have to be very weight conscious.

I talked to an old-timer friend of ours about class 11 engines. Hes the trickiest guy I know and a ex- scocre tech inspector. I think we came up with an engine program. The current class 11 rules allow a single weber IDF/26mm venturis with compression ratio no more than 8 :1. That is probably better than high compression w/stock carb.

We have the car stripped down. Next on the list is metal work. We need to fix all of the fender mounts,  make the rear apron removable, and weld various mounting tabs.

-Inside of doors need mounts/straps for emergency stuff and tools (thanks for the link to those quick clamps patk)

-mattrax mounts and entire spare kit/bags mounts behind seats.

    -co-driver oh shit handle

    -navigation and communication interface mounting

    -window net positive mounting

-tabs for quick release night driving lights

    -new fenders with wire/rolled lips.

-battery mount. We need to find some badass light weight racing battery and mount it in an enclosed box.

I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with, creativity within the rules.

I hear the san felipe 250 is gnarly track. If we can finish that race, then we’ll be good for the 500 and 1000.
