The wait for the floor mat set will be worth it. The guy making them has gone above and beyond with the investment of his time and money to reproduce them. He’s announced that once he runs through this last batch of material he’ll no longer be able to make them, so future Ghia resto’s will be back to carpet kits.
Thx Franz, I sent the heat mechanism with knobs, did you receive it too? 👍🍻
That is going to suck balls to change if that was the plan… I was hoping for some replacement knobs or something?? The originals look dipped on the lever.. as in non replaceable or removable..
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
John / Franz, I know it is impossible to remove the knobs, my idea is to change all the heat mechanism or disassemble the mechanism and use the two levers with knobs and install them in the actual mechanism that the Karmann Ghia already has installed,.. is it possible? 🤔
Yes John, I hope to bring it to home soon 🤞
I had our friend Matt 3D scan and print some fresh air control knobs.
Original type rubber floor mats arrived from Low Light Werks.👍Oh Damn!!!! The last of the jewelry?!!!?!?
Nice! Worth the wait for those unobtanium details!
Perfect Franz,… I think we just need the trims for the inside door handle “driver side”,.. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel of this project 👍👏👏👏😃
Guys, We need your help, Does anyone have a set of trims of the door handle?, we only need them to get everything, if we could get one piece, we could make aluminium repro set.
Thanks Pete, I already ask the seller “John” but he does not have inventory in this moment, he is plannig to make some in a few months.
I understand. I was wondering how you got his ad photos without responding to his ad….turns out you did. It’s annoying when people leave ads up for things they don’t have available to sell anytime soon.
If you haven’t already try contacting https://www.californianclassics.co.uk/ – they often have lots of used parts available for sale.
Have you tried Jerry Heldt?
