More problems today. Seems the ignition switch backing broke??? I’m going to email gabvwkey to see if he has the part to fix it.

The good news is that while I was looking for an ignition switch I found some really nice og window winder handles.👍

Decided to try a jbweld repair on the switch for now so that Juan can drive it next week on his visit.

Juan drove his car around the block today. It was beautiful. The car is 100% functional. He was very happy. We discussed plans to finish as soon as the rubber mats and glass trim pieces arrive.

Beauty rings and hubcaps arrived this morning. Do you want me to install the 5th ring and cap on the spare tire?

Firstly, I’d like to thank you Franz and Pat for your time during my visit to KCW.  It was very rewarding to see the amazing condition of the KG restoration, the activities to be finished and of course to drive it,… as well as all of your help during my visit.

Franz, the new quarter windows are on the way, you should receive them soon.

The hub caps and rings look great 👏👏👏. And with respect to the spare tire, please install only the ring.

Very soon to be finished. I tucked it away safely in the paint booth.

Juan hung his countries colors while he was here. We’ve honored them by enjoying some of the tequila he left for us. Thanks again.

Good stuff… Glad your happy Juan…   These cars are not easy to assemble or build or anything… 😎  Lucky we have extra cars and experience to go along and make a build so much more possible than for the first timer..

After the last Low light ghia we did… I swore I would NOT do another…  But Juan being a previous customer…  I have a very hard time saying no to previous customers.  😎  Hope this is the last… 😎

I bought a used ignition switch on samba. No luck getting in contact with Gabe.

No luck getting in contact with Gabe.

Just FYI….back in July there was a Go Fund Me page set up for him…apparently he had a pretty bad stroke.  He might still be recovering from that.
