Yes, I have everything from him, the full floor mat set and the insulating under mats.  I think I was the 8th to commit so I got mine early on in his production process.

If you have not heard from him recently you may want to check in with him and see how close he is to making yours.  He’s had some setbacks that he detailed on the Samba thread….he plans on filling all of the orders, but at a slower pace.  If mine were a match to your Ghia (mine are dark green) I’d gladly give them up for your build and take yours whenever they were ready, but that’s not an option.

Moved the body to the lift to prepare for assembly. I had to take a picture in the sun.

I’m trying to install this tarboard that Chris Vallone supplied. I cannot make it conform to the metal and lay flat….and glue is not sticking very well.

I looked up Chis’s youtube to see if he had suggestions, and you can see in his video below that its not very flat looking.

Upon doing research, it looks like people are suggesting roofing felt looks more correct than the “waffle” pattern we have… I think this tarboard kit is incorrect. It appears to be the same kit KGPR sells. Maybe I should try to find some roofing felt tomorrow.

Franz, about the roofing felt or waffle pattern, your advice will be well received,… I have some pics in my office computer of one original condition KGLL (non restored), I hope to have one that shows the original material in the engine area, and I will send you the picture. 🤙

I stopped by the hardware store to look at roofing felt…it was very thin.

In one of the samba threads it was suggested to flip the waffle pattern to the backside. After cleaning the talcum powder from the surface it looks correct.

Another gripe I have, is that the tarboard was folded und stuffed into the smallest box possible for shipping. Now it has crease marks that I have to get out.
