Sounds like Luis is going to start making the mats again in about a week. He’s posted the order numbers in the sequence they were ordered, so Juan can check against that to see how far out his are from getting made. Hopefully you’re just looking at a few weeks.Juan 59 DDWTParticipantSeptember 30, 2019 at 9:37 amPost count: 297

Fitting chrome door handles today.Juan 59 DDWTParticipantOctober 1, 2019 at 12:38 pmPost count: 297
so you received the rechrome parts,.. 😀😀😀😀😎,.. I`m excited to see the wheels with the hub caps and rings,…. the door handles look nice chrome,… 👏👏👏FranzKeymasterOctober 1, 2019 at 3:31 pmPost count: 3524
Not all of the chrome. Just the door handles came back.
I am having problems with the lock cylinder retaining screw. The chrome plating damaged the tiny 2.5mm threads. I ordered a special tap to clean them.
We also received the brass horn contact ring today.John JonesKeymasterOctober 7, 2019 at 9:56 amPost count: 6526

I thought we had 58 door stops. Looks like this car has some of the earliest later type door check straps. Starting in 59.5. We need to order kq-837-25k from hog
56-57 like beetle
58 spring and roller type
59.5-74 rubber strap and pins.Juan 59 DDWTParticipantOctober 9, 2019 at 9:41 amPost count: 297
Thanks for the information Franz,… I`m totally convinced to restore a KG is sooo difficult, many details and there is a few places where you can find the parts.
Have a Good day everyone 👍😎FranzKeymasterOctober 9, 2019 at 3:05 pmPost count: 3524
More problems today. Seems the ignition switch backing broke??? I’m going to email gabvwkey to see if he has the part to fix it.FranzKeymasterOctober 9, 2019 at 8:05 pmPost count: 3524
The good news is that while I was looking for an ignition switch I found some really nice og window winder handles.👍
Decided to try a jbweld repair on the switch for now so that Juan can drive it next week on his visit.Juan 59 DDWTParticipantOctober 9, 2019 at 9:02 pmPost count: 297
Woooowww, it’s a really good news,… thanks Franz 👏👏👏👏👏FranzKeymasterOctober 14, 2019 at 12:37 pmPost count: 3524
Juan drove his car around the block today. It was beautiful. The car is 100% functional. He was very happy. We discussed plans to finish as soon as the rubber mats and glass trim pieces arrive.
