I prepped, hung, and mounted parts for JJ to make shine yesterday. Everything came out beautiful.
Knocked out bumper backsides yesterday also.
Small blast session this morning. Time to prep and hang some more parts.
We will build it if it comes.Pat KKeymasterJuly 24, 2019 at 7:11 amPost count: 1268
Gathered, blasted, prepped and hung a bunch of little bits yesterday. JJ laid the paint down.

we had a KILLER day yesterday Juan… Lots of assy!!! Bumpers are on for good… got a lot of seals installed, also received some dash bulb holders and bulbs… hooked the last 6 wires up under the dash also ropped the windows up and got the front window in, I have the wire tucked in the rubber to pull the trim in now… I tried a few times yesterday with little luck… the window trim was not very straight….. so I spent some time fixing it.. Gonna get it in this AM!!! Then the antenna, mud guards, door handles…. I’m getting there!!!!! I hope the tar board shows up tomorrow … Body on early next week, and maybe a test drive right around the corner!!!!! 😎Juan 59 DDWTParticipantJuly 25, 2019 at 9:26 amPost count: 297

More good shit today… I tried and tried to put that chrome on the window after it was in the car… No freakin way!!???!!!!!! I had the guys push it out for me and then got it on out of the car.. it was still a pain in the fingers.. but I got it…. The front trim cleaned up pretty nice.. Car looks awesome with that window and trim on…!!!!! Fingers crossed on the back window trim.. it was a bit rougher… But Pat is already trying to make it look good as I type… 😎
Car is looking awesome with a lot of the trim on… 😎 I noticed another darn seal I am missing… the side view mirror base seal…. The antenna with the red tip is a nice nice touch.. 😎 I guess we should post a pic or two… 😎Pat KKeymasterJuly 25, 2019 at 7:01 pmPost count: 1268

Nice work, fellas. That C-trim is no joke. My fingertips after tackling mine:Juan 59 DDWTParticipantJuly 26, 2019 at 12:54 pmPost count: 297
Uuppssss,.. I did not think this task was sooo difficult, I hope the rear c-trim will be friendly,…. the KG every day is going better and better.
Pete, why did you reinstall the c-trim in you KG?
Have a Great WeekEnd,.. 👍👍👍👍😎PeteParticipantJuly 26, 2019 at 12:59 pmPost count: 860

My original windshield was scratched beyond repair, so I replaced it with a new one. It was a battle worth fighting….it’s tough to beat new glass.
Did Luis/Low Light Werks ever get your interior floor mats done?Juan 59 DDWTParticipantJuly 26, 2019 at 1:18 pmPost count: 297
Pete, I have not received the order from Luis/Low Light Werks, I hope to receive it very soon. Are you waiting an order from him too?PeteParticipantJuly 26, 2019 at 2:04 pmPost count: 860
Yes, I have everything from him, the full floor mat set and the insulating under mats. I think I was the 8th to commit so I got mine early on in his production process.
If you have not heard from him recently you may want to check in with him and see how close he is to making yours. He’s had some setbacks that he detailed on the Samba thread….he plans on filling all of the orders, but at a slower pace. If mine were a match to your Ghia (mine are dark green) I’d gladly give them up for your build and take yours whenever they were ready, but that’s not an option.John JonesKeymasterJuly 29, 2019 at 6:24 amPost count: 6326

Few pics from Friday. We decided you back window trim is to pitted. Called House of Ghia they are sending some much nicer OG pieces.
Disassembled door handles. Boxed them up along with trim rings and hubcaps. Those will get shipped off to the chrome shop today.
New wiper blades on. Arms ready to go on after electrical is tested.
Cleaned up window mechs.
Tar boards look great.
Colors look so nice together!
We will build it if it comes.FranzKeymasterJuly 29, 2019 at 8:05 pmPost count: 3363
Moved the body to the lift to prepare for assembly. I had to take a picture in the sun.FranzKeymasterJuly 30, 2019 at 2:28 pmPost count: 3363
Juan, how much of the tar board kit should I install? firewall only?Juan 59 DDWTParticipantJuly 30, 2019 at 3:13 pmPost count: 297
Sorry for my delayed answer Franz,… Fire wall and inside wheel fenders,…👍👍👍FranzKeymasterJuly 30, 2019 at 5:00 pmPost count: 3363
I’m trying to install this tarboard that Chris Vallone supplied. I cannot make it conform to the metal and lay flat….and glue is not sticking very well.
I looked up Chis’s youtube to see if he had suggestions, and you can see in his video below that its not very flat looking.
Upon doing research, it looks like people are suggesting roofing felt looks more correct than the “waffle” pattern we have… I think this tarboard kit is incorrect. It appears to be the same kit KGPR sells. Maybe I should try to find some roofing felt tomorrow.
