So we strayed from stock to go with 55-57 color scheme. Is this a reliable source?PeteParticipantSeptember 17, 2019 at 11:12 amPost count: 790
According to The Samba Dolphin/Trout Blue was offered up until July 1959, through chassis number 2 528 667. I would think it’s a correct color for Juan’s car. I can’t speak to the other details. When researching my own (Bamboo/Dark Green) I’ve seen both ivory and stone grey knobs/escutcheons.
Sorry for the confusion – I was just pointing out on the Treffen car that the knobs, column and turn signal appeared to be stone grey, while the steering wheel looks ivory (as does the heater control and shifter knob).
I sometimes think it varied from car to car, depending with what was on hand. I’m not sureJuan 59 DDWTParticipantSeptember 17, 2019 at 12:40 pmPost count: 276
Sorry Franz, but I don`t remember where I got this inf,.. We alredy have the steering wheel in L82 silver white, we could try to get the knobs like the next pics,.. what do you tink?

Getting so close. I will call tomorrow about chrome. * edit-called on chrome; door handles in transit, beauty rings and hub caps soon
Is the rubber floor mat coming along?
Also, I have a list of items we need to complete. Some have been on back order with HOG for a couple weeks.
– interior garnish trim (door and quarter tops)
– window divider trim.
-rear defrost tube long length 30mm diameter
-rear seat strap and hold down plate.
-window winder knobs. Should this car have KG knob profile?
-brass contact ring for the horn…We are missing this part. Item number 16 below. Maybe this is the same part as a beetle?Juan 59 DDWTParticipantSeptember 18, 2019 at 10:05 pmPost count: 276
Great Job Franz, the dash looks Muy Bueno,… 👏👏👏👏🤤😎
About the list of the parts, I’ll send you an email tomorrow morning 👍PeteParticipantSeptember 19, 2019 at 7:23 amPost count: 790
Just FYI….John Copellos sells a really nice 58/59 horn rebuild kit if you need more than the brass ring. These pieces can be like hen’s teeth.Juan 59 DDWTParticipantSeptember 19, 2019 at 8:04 amPost count: 276
Thanks Pete for your help 👍

Thank you Juan. I think jj has the contact with house of ghia, so I’ll bug him to ask about our backordered parts.John JonesKeymasterSeptember 20, 2019 at 6:09 amPost count: 5844
I emailed House Of Ghia.. the 1/4 divider bars I think Juan already has on order… the rest of the list I asked about..
We need that mat kit!!!!PeteParticipantSeptember 20, 2019 at 6:17 amPost count: 790
That mat kit may be a while. They’re worth waiting for though as the quality of mine is top notch, they’re “correct” for the car, and are otherwise unobtainable. Juan may want to email Luis and see if he’s looking at weeks or months before his set is done.
Here’s the latest from Luis of Low Light Werks, posted on 9/18 on The Samba:
Dear Karmann Ghia lovers,
This post took longer that I wanted. I have been working on a plan to resume production as soon as possible, to fulfill all pending orders.
Finally, I see light at the end of the tunnel! A VW enthusiast has offered me his help to accomplish this. With his support, Low Light Werks will be able to work fulltime to continue fulfilling orders and taking new ones!
We are working on the paperwork and should be completed shortly. As soon as I can, I will post a projected delivery schedule.
I really appreciate your support and patience. Over a year ago I made the goal to reproduce the Low Light bulkhead mat, that wasn’t available for over 50 years! It was harder than I ever expected, fortunately, today this is a reality and owners that received their set really love them!
Thank you again for your support!

Sounds like Luis is going to start making the mats again in about a week. He’s posted the order numbers in the sequence they were ordered, so Juan can check against that to see how far out his are from getting made. Hopefully you’re just looking at a few weeks.Juan 59 DDWTParticipantSeptember 30, 2019 at 9:37 amPost count: 276
Thanks Pete for the information, my order is in the 5th block,.. I hope Luis starts shipping very soon,… 👍👊😀
