Yesterday was a steering box mayhem day for me… Took me three boxes of stuff to get the results I wanted.. Both boxes that came with my shit had been full of water at some point..  anyway…  Going to start mocking up tranny today!!!

I had to sand down all the arms so that they would fit correctly and not be tight in them bushings… I am hoping for a springy front end that might help me do wheelies!!!!!   I drilled and tapped for grease zerks, then assembled my spindles and steering, after the steering box mayhem!!!

Got my Aluminum push rods from smith brothers… another upgrade for the pamper motor… and a tad longer for better rocker geometry!

I’m gonna start posting my rail pics in the sand rail thread I guess…  but here’s one anyway!

Why wouldn’t you sand down the red inserts instead of the control arms? I thought that was the common practice.

adjustable reamer works great for this to creep up on the fit for each torsion arm!

Fair question….   Here was my thinking…    I actually have come to dislike these urethanes… 😎  But… They were sitting here, ready to install, the day I wanted to assemble my beam…  I knew I was going to modify the lower arms to run no shock.. and the arms would pretty much be married to this beam…  I think I will be changing these urethanes seasonally running them off road, cause they are way too soft… and want to be able to hammer a new set in and run em… not have to ream all 4…   I wouldn’t install these now days… I would suggest bearings for any long distance drivers….. 😎

I’m also stoked to get another project on it’s wheels and tires and shit cleaned up and out… I took this apart like last September…  Rusty talked me into it…. I had been feeling crappy and it was a nice pick me up!!!   Then… well… I got side tracked till now… 😎  😎  😎
