Only good reports from my cooler setup so far. It worked well on the 15 window when I drove it through death valley in the middle of the summer a couple years ago. Probably saved my engine honestly. That fan was SCREAMING! I think we would have killed something without it.

Haven’t heard it come on with this setup yet, which I think is a good thing. I’ll give an updated report as it gets warmer… maybe a test run out to the desert will be a good indicator.

Glad your having good luck with yours…. Your is a “hotter” top end than mine… so…. The clock is ticking.. 😎  Keep them heads cool..

Could it need more valve stem lubrication? ?

My new parts are here… I just gotta stop going to bed after dinner…. 😎  😎

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

Just an idea from what I’ve seen. In the circle track stuff around here, guys are running oil lines to their valve covers and making it spray a “mist” of oil on the valve springs to keep them cool.

Maybe put a “T” off your oil pressure sensor on the block and run a line to each valve cover and so it’s “misting” oil all over the springs? Use a tiny ass turbo oil feed line..? Just need some type of defuser on the end so it sprays on them all..

just some useless garbage from my peanut.

Weather has been messing me up and haven’t been able to get my trailer out of the 12″ deep mud in the field. Trying a different approach today and if it works I’ll load the car Wed or Thursday and am thinking a trip down to KCW on Friday. Anyone going to be around?

Got the trailer out and hosed of. Probably load the car this afternoon and head for KCW Friday morning.

Probably…. Then head to Ridgeway shortly afterwards…. 😎 Hippy Hot Spring time… Dan??? Dewayne? Dougyfresh?Bubba? anyone anyone.. 😎

Loaded up and heading out now. About an hour and a half, depending on road stuff.

Some thoughts from my peanut.. 😎

sounds complicated… 😎  Makes me wonder about my valve stem lubrication…

I took the other side of the motor down last night, and one of the intakes on the other side was moving it’s way out also…  hummm

I can’t recall, but think maybe I had hemi cut heads before I broke in Prescott a year ago… the heads they sent, were not hemi cut… so maybe, all this time since..  I have been running a bit more compression… ???  I’m gonna figure it all out before I assemble it..  I want it around 7.5 this time..

I don’t see anyway to get anymore air to the heads… which is what I need I think…

My thoughts are, I like to keep my Dynamic compression between 8 and 8.5 , I would check/look over a rocker geometry, Getting your AF/jetting correct will aide to lower head combustion temperatures.

Wayner…. I never heard of such a thing as dynamic compression… Is that a northern Utah thing?  😎 😎

I measure deck height, head cc, plug it into the equation,bam..  number… what compression is that? 😎

Dynamic compression is a more involved or accurate way of checking the CR. It factors in the valve timing. One of the reasons that New cams come with those cam cards with this info. Depending on when that intake valve actually closes is when you begin building compression. Also why bigger cams need more compression is that more duration has the intake valve open longer to pull in more fuel for a bigger cylinder charge for a bigger bang and more power.

Klotz Synthetic Uplon Fuel Lubricant KL-107

today’s gasoline sucks for air cooled

I was crew chief scca rally a 1973 911 with a 2.5 9.5-1.. mechanicall injected …the owner didnt want to run an oil cooler ,,,more places to leak..oil temp on stages would spike at 250….service then out again…long story short halfway through the season ,,,we could hear him coming ,,,the valves were squeaking so loud…finished the rally , pulled the heads honed the guides , Ran great , the rest of the season…

with all your your mountain climbing and heat cycling the guide probably shrunk a bit and grabbed the stem….

the interference  fit was probably not enough,, and or the stem clearance to tight ….we where lucky all the guides didn’t  move …sure was funny looking back..

oh ya we were running leaded race gas..

    ya i couldnt sleep

I suspect you are correct!!  😎  I need to get my head temps down a bit…. 😎

surprised I haven’t ever been exposed to this more scientific way of setting compression ratio…. 😎

I am gonna CC these heads and mock shit up soon and well talk about it…

Thinking about hogging out number three cylinder a little extra… oddly enough both guides that are moved are intakes…   seems to me it would be a good idea to run our guide a .001 sloppy??? no???

I haven’t done shit with my parts yet..  I’ve been in bed by 8pm every night… !!!!!!!!!!! 😎   My awesome wife makes me an awesome dinner every night!!!!  Fill my belly up, and hit that recliner… and bam… eye’s shut!  😎   Hard to believe the amount of time I spend resting these days…     Ten years ago…. in my late 30’s… I was still pissin vinegar!!!  Now it seem’s I’m pissing something more like lemonade with some alcohol in it… 😎  😎

Blake Wilkey is driving me nuts with those badd ass sand cars!!!!!!  I really want a sick sand car….  lots of power, light, wheelie doing machine!!! 😎

Started cleaning things up last night…   I looked at my old vs new heads… Looks like the Hemi cut adds about 7cc’s to the heads volume… The old heads we about 60cc….these look to be about 67cc..  I’m going to shoot for mid 7’s on compression.. 😎  😎

Also blasted all my tin… Gonna paint it a different color.. 😎
