Tube chassis, supercharged LS, and a Mendeola. I bet it’s more reliable than a vw too.
Whatever you do don’t let Mark drive it!
I do miss that car! It was nearly un-killable

I’ve heard that a time or two…. 😎 I’m not scared to break it… Thats for sure… 😎 I like to have fun.. 😎 Just don’t stop in front of me…. If I’m in second… I have it pinned…. 😎 😎
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
I spent some time on this the other night… The sway bar was making noise’s up front… no bueno… I removed it, and lubricated everything including shift rod where it passes through tight beam and shit.. lubed cables and just dialed in a few things… I took it to wings and beer last night.. and wow… this rig drives smoother….. 😎 what an awesome bus… I’m gonna get the paint dialed in real soon… It’s workign it’s way up my list… I’m gonna give the whole outside a fresh coat of L31!!!!!! Then… some sort of logo… and some fuch’s.. maybe a roof rack.. I have an OG westy one that’s been collecting dust in the trailer for years…. 😎
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
I miss playing with this shit on the weekends…. 😎 Carbon fiber and aluminum… racing… competitive stuff…. But there hasn’t been a place to race around here for years….many years..’

I think the R/C hobby is dying fast. We lost all our hobby shops here in Tucson in the last year. I haven’t seen a new member in my flying club under the age of 30 in forever. No youth coming into the hobby.
My options for supplies is, drive to Phoenix, or order online. Ace Hardware has two franchises here in Tucson that sell hobby stuff, but outside of plastic models and railroad supplies, they are pretty pathetic.
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.
the hobby isnt dying, in some respects its bigger than its been in a long time….BUT…it isn’t the hobby we have grown up and done for years…its a new generation of computerized gadgetry that the young kids are in to. i cant speak for RC cars but as far as model aviation goes its still going strong. the problem is the kids are into the “drones” god i hate that word. you can go buy a drone at kmart and go fly it successfully TODAY! that is why the clubs and local hobby shops are dying. there is in some respects no need for them unfortunately. you can fly drones in your front yard or at a park so joining a sanctioned club isnt a thing anymore. unmanned aircraft as a career is the biggest thing going in aviation right now. i am proof of that…i get to do my hobby for a living for a pretty major place. with that being said you are absolutely right…the hobby as WE know it is dying.
I do think the hobby has changed a lot… from the ni-cad and brushed motor days… 😎 😎 Lipo’s and brushless had just come out when I quit.. Oklahoma City was where I had my most fun….. we’d have a 100 entries on Saturday night….OffRoad racing was huge.. It was fun as all hell…. 😎 You’d be there from the second they opened till midnight when racing was all over!!!! 😎 It was indoor, so winter wasn’t a problem either.. I’d spend countless hours cleaning and messing with my cars.. 😎
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
Now you’ve just got to get into drone racing!
Weather has been messing me up and haven’t been able to get my trailer out of the 12″ deep mud in the field. Trying a different approach today and if it works I’ll load the car Wed or Thursday and am thinking a trip down to KCW on Friday. Anyone going to be around?
Here’s what put us on tow trucks to get home yesterday….
I love going on adventures in our bus!!!
Valve guide? Think somehow-someone crafty could put a “set screw” in the side of that? Obviously it would have to be crazy short to not hit the valve stem inside it. It will be a sucky job to drill and tap inside that intake port, but maybe it would help keep the guide from moving?
