    I haven’t touched that dually.. I need to order some parts… But I am trying to be patient… 😎  Gonna be about $1000 in all the shit I want to buy..

    I haven’t had much to say for a few days…. My pamper kicked me right in the balls the other day!…  I have a pushrod tube thats leaking… fuck me. I gotta pull that bitch out again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and take a head off again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    I tried to fix it over the weekend, and I made it worse… 😎   fuck… 😎  So I will pull my motor again this weekend and fix that shit!!!!!!!  I swear I hear some rattling in the bottom end now..  😎 please nooooooooooooooo 8-(  Im already thinking the money I have been saving for dually parts might should go to painters for a new long block…. 😎

    yeah… had it out twice this weekend…. after I got the engine fixed, all in and test drove… … I noticed the input shaft was leaking… so pulled it again.. I think I got it all sealed up finally!  😎

    Now I’m thinking some scoops on the side… 😎  MORE FRESH AIR!! 😎  them hippies knew what they were doing!!!!! 😎

    If we could lower the air temps entering the engine bay…  by like 30 degree’s … 😎  a firestone cooler mounted as an intake to each set of vents…. 😎

    I hope your joking. Scoops don’t work on split style air inlets. They jam up the airflow and cause to much turbulence, thus decreasing fresh air flow. Every test I’ve ever done myself with scoops and thermal couple wires attached to the heads, had higher temps than with out scoops. Big engines just make to much heat. Even VW had trouble with air volume, with the type4 engines when they pushed over 1700cc’s.

    Bus did awesome this weekend to Idaho and back… and I drove through some 97 degree shit a few times….    It almost vapor locked at a couple stop signs…. ..

    I think I need to pull my engine before this weekend.. My main seal looks to be starting to dribble a tiny bit.. 8-(   fuck me… 😎

    SAND DUNES!!!!!!    I am dying to get back to the sand dunes….  in a real sand scorcher!!!!  😎  I talked to a guy last night about St Anthonys dunes in Idaho.. Sounds totally awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    My old friend, Rob Cress had a functional solution for temporary driving through exceptionally hot climates.  He’d drive his splits to California from Colorado pretty regularly, sometimes during the dead of Summer.

    He bought one of those pressurized, aluminum can water mister systems and used one emitter that was aimed into his cooling fan.  If it was really hot, he’d turn on the system and he told me it dropped his engine temperatures significantly.  I’m more inclined to build a motor with whatever compression/cooling it needs but once in a while you get a scorcher of a day.  Something like this could really come in handy and be a non-permanent install and you get to have a mister system at your camp site.

    I actually remember chatting about the mister system going to the fan a decade ago at some VW campouts, you and Rob (RIP) we’re probably standing right there. Was thinking about that a bunch while I was trying to cross Utah and Nevada in July a couple days ago!!! 🙂 🙂

    I wouldn’t want to run it full time, but on those exceptionally hot days it might save your motor.

    Look into a water/alcohol injection system. Used to run an Edelbrock system on a V-8 truck engine years ago.

    I’m liking this idea!!!!  So should we find a 12V mister with a single jet to run behind the shroud??  I think will work!!!!

    Bus is running like a top!!!! I had to adjust some points this weekend… I think they had been tight now for a week or more… Thinking that was part of my vapor locking in SLC…
