Sometimes I feel like the head coach… and my guys are my star players.. There is no doubt I am my guys biggest fan.. I’m sure I have complimented those two more than any other person has since they lived at home with mama!!! 😎 😎 😎 I have seen enough people come and go from here that it is clear as water that Pat and Franz are the two that are supposed to work here…. 😎
It’s been awhile since I have had anyone like Pat was when he started hanging around here.. Bringing me beer every night… He would show up after his day job to help me work on something till I kicked him out and I went to bed… 😎 He was determined to get a job here… and he kept hanging around, bringing me beer and helping me out and just showing genuine enthusiasm. He was showing up because he really wanted to… and He still does to this day!!!
And Franz. Before he worked here… He was a diesel mech and came down and spent his whole paycheck every time he got paid on dropped spindles, polished 5 spokes and a slammed dub.. I still remember him telling me he wanted to work here soooo bad he would work for free for a week to prove himself to me… That’s awesome.. Been awhile since I had any young blood like that… That kind of enthusiasm is so hard to find now days.
Audrey starts school Monday!! yeah! That’s where she is supposed to be.. 😎 I gave it a fair effort to try and get one of my Kids to work at KCW.. But it is simply not in the cards… She loves VW’s and the VW life… But I don’t think she dreams of dirty shop work…. 😎 😎 😎 And I couldn’t agree more!!!! I thought I had her for a second… 😎 Life is GRIT!!! 😎 Then I thought for a second she could just help me with my intranet stuff, social media ya know… 😎 She is good at it… How about them REELS???? Off the charts shit!!!! Hard to do!!! But the Return On Investment is just not there for me or Audrey… I would call this my second push with the social media, and all the while trying my best to avoid facebook!!!! It is also tough having family working for you, I know this.. I have lived that movie already!! AND, I dislike me causing Audrey any extra screen time… We get enough these days.. 😎 So I asked her to step away from it…
I’ll post some stuff on the gram from time to time, and Audrey will when we are racing and on the road…. I enjoy it… it’s just a useless time suck…. There are components of my machine that the internet hype building effort seems to turn gas right into water… it just can’t entice or lubricate. excite or motivate that part of the machine.. And I love my machine the way it is… Firing on ALL cylinders…. So I reckon I should adjust that mixture screw in a bit so I can keep the machine running as smooth as possible… 😎 Best lean idle…. 😎
Now my website… that’s not changing!!!! That’s about our work and our customers. and believe it or not… NONE of my customers or people who spend money with me give a fuck about instagram.. But they do post on my site!!! Dan, Tom, Cory, Tom… None of them post on IG.. But they look at how they spent their money everyday… 😎
