Rules are rules. “ follow” them if you want to play.
Rules say “Stock vw sedan as delivered in the US”.
“Any questions concerning chassis combinations will be decided by referring to VW factory parts manuals and /or VW of America booklet. This is a stock production class and all components must remain stock except for those modifications allowed herein.”
Huge weight saving with a swinger, 300-500lbs, and cool points if it’s an Oval.
Would be sick to kick some butt with a swinger!
We will build it if it comes.
Baja 400 started this morning. Live stream link.

We will build it if it comes.
The rules are there to avoid everyone building link pin beam w/ IRS suspension. Something VW never produced.
It changes the chassis from basically stock to custom. This is the problem with class 5 cars.
66-68 beetle with ball joint and swing axle are the worst years to build a class 11 out of.
I can understand the chassis rule….but why does the body year matter?
I’m not gonna tear this apart until I am gonna spend some time on it… I don’t think I am quite done racing.., But I need to push some other stuff forward…✅🤪👍🏻
I think I thought of an EASY way to fix my roof and save the oval…. 😎 😎 😎 It hit me when I got in bed last night… of course I got excited and had a hard time sleeping.. 😎 😎 😎 dang it!!! 😎
My windsheild opening looks good… My oval looks good… I am gonna cut that roof straight across right behind the windshield through the door opening and right above the rear window, through the 1/4 window, and through the B pillars…. The 1/4 windows are the same through 64… It will be no more work than doing a ragtop section in a hard top!…. I can push them other parts out…. 😎 😎 😎 Yup… I think that will work… 😎 😎 I bet i could do most the job in a weekend… 😎 Or in one day with some help… 😎 😎
New roof, 2 new doors, 4 new fenders…. I’ll be racing again… 😎 😎
You heard the oval “Flipped “ and now you want to help👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎.
I didn’t mean I was gonna sell it for a profit… sorry for the confusion 😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
When I remove this roof… I am going to deskin the new one, and the other side of the inside of the body to make it easy to push shit out for now on. 😎 😎 Race damage…. 😎 repairs.. 😎 No more touching other cars…. no more!!! no good comes from it.. none… 😎
New shirt design.
“Rolling’s racing, welcome to class 11!” 😎😎😎🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃✅
I know the rule makers have their reasons, but I don’t understand why the rules are so rigid in keeping the suspension setup consistent with the YOM, but everyone can run a 1600 DP engine regardless of year. Seems like it would be simple to allow any suspension combo as long as it’s stock VW between 1950-1970. Let everyone have IRS and LP with their 1600’s, which puts the emphasis on setup skills and driving skills (like every other race circuit) and not YOM advantages/disadvantages.
Pretty much what I was thinking Pete. When I first got into VWs back in the early 70s I was building swamp buggies and mini-stock circle track cars. The swings were a hoot, but pretty easy to get up on edge. The first IRS racer we built could run circles (no pun intended) around them.
Quafie LSD’s are available again! Looks like they cost about $1500. Which is way less than I thought they would be. If I order three he said I could get a racers discount… ???? 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
Imagine a LSD in the triple box single cab
yeah.. I was thinking the same thing…. One in my class 11, one in my monster single cab and one in my drag car I want to build so I can hang out with some drag racers next year too… 😎 I guess I need three… 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎
